Alright what moderate resort would you guys choose for a couple? CBR has some meaning to us b/c thats where we started to like eachother but we are open to different experiences. What would you choose?

If you do a search, you will find hundreds of threads on the moderate resorts.
My personal favorite is Port Orleans - Riverside. The landscaping is breath taking! I think it has the best food court of all the mods, too. I'm going back to POR in July! So excited!!!

You'll find people who love each of them--for different reasons. What are you looking for? I personally think Coronado Springs is beautiful, but I also love southwestern architecture (and that glow the buildings take on at sunrise/sunset--gorgeous). But I love all of the moderates--it really depends on what you are looking for, but beware POR and POFQ sometimes combine buses.

So far POR is my favorite resort. I loved the laid back, southern feel. The food court was very good. And the boat to downtown Disney was a nice bonus too. I can't wait to stay there again.

I've only stated at POFQ, but I am staying CBR in August, I think all of the moderate resorts are great to stay at and you won't be disapointed if you stay at any of them. The only thing that I've heard about CBR and the corando is that they are spread out and are pretty big, but I don't think that's a huge problem, but that's just me! Good luck! :)

Coronado will probably have less kids running around than the others. Just in case that's an issue or not.

Agreed, its very quiet and the transportation to the parks is hands down the best out of any resort on property. The food court is set up oddly and thats everyone's main complaint but to get around the gratuity issue just get your food to go, problem solved. As far as getting around inside the resord they have little karts that will take you around to the main building or you can jump on just about any bus cause they all stop at the main building last except for the DTD bus.

I'm going to Port Orleans Riverside this July with the wife and kids. After much research, and reading many opinions and reviews, it seemed to me that POR was overwhelmingly the favorite of the moderates. What I've been reading here seems to back that up as well. I feel like I have chosen wisely!

CBR is my favorite moderate. I love the layout, the food court, the banana cabana, etc. Best of all (and this makes me sound very lazy) you can park pretty close to your room. Some of the resorts, you have to walk forever just to get there. If you stay ask for Martinique, I think its the best area!!!

The Coronado Springs is spread out pretty far and wide. Its a little bit of a hike between the front desk and some of the out-lying room buildings. But the good thing is the bus stops are pretty close to each set of rooms.

POR or CBR not coronado the food court there sucks. Just my opinion. I would much rather stay at CBR or POR for the food choices. POR has the boat access to Downtown Disney which is pretty cool and convient so maybe that will help you make your mind up. Caribbean is nice and spread out and has nice quiet pools in each block of rooms so thats nice as well, but it can be quite a walk to get to the food court if your in the outlying areas. I prefer CBR but have stayed at both and enjoyed both. Both have cool pools but would not recommend Coronado to anyone due to the food court.

Just curious what you are basing that opinion on? The food there i have found to rival any counter service and some table service places at any of the parks or resorts. The meals there have pretty large portions and the cooks are very nice and helpful. But using the word "sucks" is pretty descriptive so i guess you know your stuff.

I have stayed there 3 times now, cbr once and never again, I felt like there was a noisy children convention there, besides the transportation was as bad as the all stars. POR I liked alot but out room was quite dirty with lots of mildew growing on the AC vents, that was recently reburbished so im sure that is much better now.

The only problem I have with Coronado's food court is the mandatory gratuity that I think goes against the food court concept. But the food is fantastic, anyway.

Moderate resort?

 POR is our favorite. we have stayed there many times both in Alligator Bayou and on the Mansion side. The boat to DTD is awesome. Carriage rides at night. Love the Ole Man Island pool. Awesome setting. You can stroll over to POFQ and use their pool if you want to. Surrey bikes and boats to rent. Good food court and good sit down dining. Anything else? ha.ha. Anyway, thats our favorite. will be back there Jan. 2007. Yaaaay!!!:sohappy:

Hands down POR........Its the only Mod that has a water launch to a destination (DTD). All others boast marinas but they are only for the water sprites that dont go anywhere else. Excelent food court, centrally located, great food court. Ive always said its a deluxe resort on a moderate budget.
