Kopp's Frozen Custard is my number 1 favorite Ice Cream,

The Kopp's Vanilla is great, but I'm not a fan of their Swiss Chocolate...and I'm a chocolate ice cream/custard guy.

I love Culver's around home. We used to have a local place Don's, but that closed up.

In Florida, there is a small place in Madeira Beach called "Shake Shack". It has the creamiest ice cream I have ever tasted. It was located right outside our hotel, so we walked over there multiple times.

In WDW, I like the Gelato place at Italy. At home, I'm quite honestly just as happy with Oreo cookie Ice Cream from the grocery store. Not big on desserts, and I don't eat yogurt at all.

We do a lot of homemade Ice Cream, which I don't know if it's better than ice cream you can buy in the store, but the satisfaction of having a finished product does seem to make it taste better!

If we go out, it seems like we always head over to Cold Stone for their unique mixtures.

Oberweiss for ice cream, red mango for froyo! White peach there is my fav! Menchies is a close runner up as well for froyo! (They serve pineapple dole whip occasionally)

Cold Stone Creamery is currently my favorite.

When I was a kid, my father used to like to jump in the car in the evening and go for a ride. (Gas was about 15 cents a gallon back then). Anyway, he always stopped at this tiny shack, smaller then most neighborhood ice cream trucks, that sold vanilla or chocolate frozen custard. It was wonderful. I have tried everyplace I could think of to duplicate it and haven't been able to yet.:(

I also used to love Root Beer Fizzies so that tells you what direction my taste buds must have been going at the time.
For you kids that don't know what Root Beer Fizzies are, they were like alka seltzer tablets that you dropped in water. Like Kool-aid but with a fizz. Thinking back, they were godawful.:depressed:

Rita's for custard (and Italian ice)!

For soft serve, there a little ice cream place in Kissimmee right on 192 that has creamy creamy soft serve.

I forgot to mention this place in my last post. We were staying off-site near Sea World this last trip and stopped off at Ginther's Swirls on International Drive, just south of Sea World. Outstanding ice cream. Very creamy and tasty. They had a machine that infused different flavors into the vanilla. The kids loved their Cotton Candy ice cream. I loved my Chocolate and Vanilla swirl. All 4 of us got our treat for just about the same price it would have cost us for 2 Mickey Bars in the park and was so much better tasting.

I submit it is an impossibility to be better tasting. Just kidding. I know that Mickey Bars are nothing more then Dove Bars with ears, but, there is something about having one in a Disney Park that brings out that "expensive" taste to it. It may just be a desire to justify spending that much money on a plain old Ice Cream Bar.

Cold Stone is great but they put so much stuff in sometimes, it's like a sundae and even though sundaes have ice cream....it's a completely different category for me.

Inside Scoop in Wickford, RI is a great little mom and pop place. Better than chains.

As for store bought ice cream...Edy's or Ben and Jerry's. Breyer's and Turkey Hill are horrible....fyi. No taste to them.

I was eating PB ice cream from Breyers yesterday and it was like eating crap
