Okay everyone I need to know if you are traveling with four kids (3-9) and three adults (I am one of them). What would you sugest.

Where should we stay?
How long so we can see everything?
How much wioll it total in money?
How much extra money should we bring?

I am trying to get out cheap but we want to stay on Disney property. Please if there are any offers any time of the year that get cheap p-lease inform me. I would really love to know this information. Thank you.:animwink: :)

Assuming you stay at the All Star Resort (I would go with Movies...it's my favorite of the three), also get a refillable mug. They are $10 and give you free refills at the Resort for the entire stay, so...if you try to take as many of your meals at the Resort as possible (i.e. come back to the Resort for an afternoon swim and lunch), you will save a lot of money on food. Also realize that not all Disney food is ridiculously expensive...if you just get something from the bakery every breakfast as opposed to getting seven omelets every morning, you save money there. Now, some people said not to go to the parks your first and last days, but I beg to differ. You could save money by doing that. For example, first of all, get flights on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, as they are cheaper. If you get an early flight there and a late flight home, you can have two park days there. Now, lets say you arrive on a Thursday morning and leave on a Tuesday evening, having 6 nearly full park days. What you would save on is the airline flights due to the day of week and the time of day, and on your hotel room--you would only pay for five nights while having six park days. On the other paw, if you were to go for a eight days and have the same six day park hopper, you would be forced to pay for another two nights of your vacation, for very little. If you go during the off season, park hours will be decreased, thereby allowing for after-hours visits to such properties as Marketplace and West Side. Therefore, there is no need for the extra days...you would also have to pay for meals on those extra days. Therefore, it would be cheaper to have a shorter vacation while having time for the same things. As for charging by the number of people, yes, Disney does. However, you must have one adult's name for each room booked. Therefore, tell them two adults and two kids are in one room and one adult and two kids in the other--you will then get no charge for extra people.

Camp Ground

Even though you have 7 people and it says it sleeps 6 with a three year old, you could throw her in your bed at night!! The log homes you can rent there are great!!!! They have fires at night with movies, they have a petting zoo, they have a nice pool area but the best thing is they have a kitchen. You can make breakfast, have cereal if your in a hurry, you can keep drinks there, you could even barbecue. With 7 people eating can be very expensive and this would off set some of it. It's a little more expensive nightly but in the end it can save you a lot of money on food. We did it when the kids were young, and it was great!!! We brought the grandmother and everyone chipped in their own money so it wasn't so expensive. I would look into that also, because like I said, even the fast food gets very expensive!!!!

We usually go uber-cheap and get a decent, cheap hotel on the main Kissimmee drag. We always drive, so we have a car there. The last time we only payed $35.00 a night. I'd really like to stay at a Disney resort sometime, but it will have to be when I have a lot of extra money to throw around. We go by the 'we're only there to sleep' motto anyway.

When we were at All Star Movies they had one section of the food court that offered a Family Dinner for about $20 drinks weren't included but as someone mentioned earlier get the mugs! The kids use theirs nightly here at home..savoring the magic.
anyway...the dinner choices they offered when we were there was 1) meatloaf, mashed potatoes/gravy, rolls & veggie
2)turkey dinner mps/gravy, rolls/veggies
These meals were to feed 4-6 people. We had 7 but that counted 3 little girls but it was enough for us. Even if you doubled up and spent $40 for 8 thats only $5.00 per person.
We filled our mugs daily in the mornings, evenings etc. but we spent the full days inside the parks.
You can eat cheap at the parks, take along snacks and remember dinners are the most expensive so eat lightly then or have quick counter service meals then, have the nice lunches late in the day when your all ready for a break anyway!

It depends on how you like to live.

By far the cheapest way you can stay at Disney World, on or off the property is to camp. Either in tents if you are that adventurous, or in your own camper. While most people don't own a camper, for those people that do, even staying in Fort Wilderness is a huge bargin of a deal. I don't remember exactly what it is, but let's say it is 60 bucks a night. Well, that's not neccesarily cheap, until you factor in food. With a camper or the cabins at Fort Wilderness, you can buy and cook your own food instead of having to depend on eating out for every single meal.

Doing it this way my family went many times during the summer for a full month. Couple staying in a campground with an annual passport, a family of four could be on vacation with unlimited access to the entire property for a month for a heck of a bargin.

As far as hotel's go, I would think staying off property, a little ways removed from WDW and the rest of the attractions would be the cheapest, although not as convienient.
