Delta is suuperb. The connections will be easy. Deltas terminal in Detroit is gorgeous. Ride the indoor monorail!

Delta is great about 80% of the time. Their on-board expierences and staff are typically much better than average, but their gate personnel have been terrible and incompetent at times.

It's an American airline. What more needs to be said? 
That said... No issues with last couple of trips (all Delta through LGA/JFK and MCO). They charge $25/checked bag though. So the second trip we got "smart" and did carry-on only. Sucks, but the airlines force passengers to do this. They did offer to check bags "as a courtesy" on the way home (it was a full flight), so we did check two bags at that point, since it was free.
