What is better value

I have a dilemma.... I had originally booked POR preferred room but now it's excluded from the free dining I was thinking of changing to CS but at CS they only have standard rooms left.... What should I do???
Should I stay with POR preferred room & take up the room discount as it's not excluded for the room discount
Or
Should I book CS & get the free dining & not worry about not getting a preferred room???

I'd do the math. Calculate the value to you of Free Dining (not the cost, but the value - how much would you be spending on food without free dining) and compare that to the room discount.

Since we don't tend to eat dessert with most meals and 2 in our party usually share meals, the room discount would likely be a better deal for us.

if I was in that situation I would do free dining because I always take advantage of the snacks and I always take advantage of the meals with the desert especially my husband he eats a lot I think you have to decide what's better for your family

Preferred rooms aren't necessary IMHO. You can request a room closest to the "food court" and main pool complex when you get there. They're fairly accommodating.;)

Silly question (I usually take advantage of the 25-30% off deals), but where do you find the free dining deals...and can you stack them with the room offers?

Right now, Free Dining can only be booked if you have a Disney Visa Card - some people got emails about the offer, other just called and inquired. The offer should be opening up to the general public on the 7th and you will be able to find it on Disney's website under Special Offers.

You cannot combine offers. It's one or the other. So if both are available for your dates/resort, you'll need to do some number crunching to determine which would be of better value to you.

I prefer the free DDP to the room discount all things being close to even. If the room savings is a great deal more than the savings from the free DDP they that might sway us. If the difference is less than 20% I would stick with free DDP. It's personal preference to a degree I think.

The only way to answer your question is to do the math for yourself.

We can offer our opinions on the intangibles, but if you want to know the "value", you have to crunch the numbers. You always have to do the math.
