What hotel do you recommend?

At DisneyLand Paris? We're looking to go for 3-5 days, there's 4 of us, 2 adults, 1 teen *moi* and my bro, 12, hopefully ressonably value for money, shuttles to the park, magic hours if possible.

So what hotels do you recommend? :)

We were looking at New York, Sequoia and Davy Crocket. But we know that Davy Crocket (although it looks awesome) doesn't provide shuttles to the park, so thats kind of a no-go.

Thanks

Sequoia - new york is over priced imho...

and you REALLY dont need a shuttle for the lake disney resorts... they are right next to the park :)

My vote is Sequoia, I loved it there. New York looked nice but not worth the difference in price.

The hotel is only a 5 minute walk from both park exits and you walk through Disney Village to get to them so there isn't much need for a shuttle although they do run from Sequoia.

I've stayed at the New York, Newport Bay, Sequoia and Cheyenne plus the Kyriad which is (only just) off property -it does have plenty of shuttles but is too far to walk when theres a long queue for the bus and you have to buy park passes seperately.

My first choice would be the Sequoia, it has a really cosy atmosphere and is in a good position. We also liked the Cheyenne although it is a longer walk - the rooms there have bunk beds plus one double instead of 2 double beds.

Looks like it'll be Sequoia then :) thanks guys

Good choice!! This was always my favourite... but I'm going back to DLRP in 3 days and staying at Hotel Santa Fe because I'm going with friends instead of family, so thought the cheapest hotel will do!!! Lol

Sequoia is really nice... especially the food! LOL

For anyone that has been to both DLP and WDW...how does the Sequoia compare to Wilderness Lodge for atmosphere? What about Newport Bay compared to Yacht Club? We're in the process of planning a potential trip and it would be nice to stay at one that is unique and not just like what we can see elsewhere. The only choices I really have to work with are Sequoia, Newport, and New York since they are 3 of the 4 that allow the use of vacation club points and Disneyland Hotel takes way more points than the others.

Theyre all quite different - it may all be Disney but France can't compare with the US. The Newport Bay was pleasant enough but lacking in atmosphere I thought. The New York was well themed - of course - but the downside was the prices, drinks in the bar were extortionate.

Thats a big difference between WDW and DLP, all the hotel bar and food prices at WDW are more or less the same, at DLP the more expensive the hotel the more expensive the bar and restaurants.

I say again, the Sequoia is my fave.

The drinks in the resort bar are VERY expensive. I kept a receipt as a souvenir when we had two glasses of Orange Juice and the Disney Land hotel because I couldn't believe how expensive they were.

Just to be different, having stayed at the Santa-Fe, Cheyenne and Newport bay, we are firmly committed to the Santa-Fe.
The reasoning is this.
We get up, get ready and go for breakfast. We then get on the shuttle and spend the day in the Park until it closes. Repeat as required:)
As the rooms are all pretty much the same (apart from the air-conditioning in the more expensive hotels) and we are never there to use things like the pool, we opt for the cheapest and spend what we save in the Park.
The last thing we want is to spend more time in the hotel than we have to. I can sit around at home and, one can always walk around the other hotels, sit in the lounge, have a meal etc without actually staying there.
Maybe we are just cheap..................................:ROFLOL:

To throw a different light on this - the Holiday Inn. Its got a free shuttle bus, is a nice clean modern (and well themed) hotel and can be as cheap as €80 per night for a family room - giving you lots of savings to spend in the parks!

Love Love Love Sequoia Lodge, lovely atmosphere in bar area, character photo area where there are different characters everyday, nice pool with slide, also pleasant walk to Parks and Downtown Disney :sohappy:

The Sequoia Lodge is really nice, but if you want two separate interconnecting rooms and good facilities the MyTrvel explorers is really ggod! (and the bar there does the best vanilla milkshakes!) but the Sequoia Lodge is closer, because it is a Disney Hotel. The New Port Bay, the New York and the Holiday Inn are also really nice! (In the holiday in, in family rooms the bunkbeds have a curtain around them and there own tv!) You can only go to the Davy Crockett Ranch if you self drive, so that is why there are no shuttle buses. For the Sequoia Lodge and the New York you don't need a shuttle bus!
Have a nice trip!

How does the Sequoia lodge compare to the Grand Californian? I am not going to DLP for a long time but I was curious. It looks really similair and we just got back from the Grand Californian and it was Amazing.
