So this afternoon, I decided to stop by Universal to pick up my freebie HHN Employee Preview passes for tomorrow...
well, it was cancelled due to damage from Hurricane Jeanne (more later on this), so I was disappointed to say the least... especially since my employee was set to ID expire on 9/29/04.
So I went off to work, with nothing more than a disappointed look on my face. Well... inspiration hit me. At 5:45, I clocked out at work, changed back into my street clothes that I had worn earlier, and drove back to Universal. I auditioned to be an Active Backup for HHN. Basically, it's a Sub (an understudy to those in the theatre) position. I wanted this since it would give me the benefits of working for USF (especially the free admission), and it would allow me the flexibility to still go to HHN as a guest AND continue with my day job.
Well, 90 minutes later I got the position, and my ID gets extended another 365 days
Moral of the story? If the door is locked, use the window.
That being said, I also went around USF to get some shots of the construction/repair work. UO actually planted a full cornfield for one of their Scare Zones, and it was destroyed by the hurricane (among several other HHN related thing), so they have crews working around the clock to get things ready for this Friday. They've cancelled tomorrow's (Wednesday) Employee Preview night in order to get more time to work on the repairs. I'll have a few photos up later tonight.
