What happened to Space Mountain Line?

Ok, i have been on Space Mountain many times but the last few times, i have noticed large signs near the loading platforn stating "Single Riders, all groups will be seperated" My question is: When will this be up and running??? Why are the signs there?? Could someone please answer, i go to the parks alone and would love more single rider lines especially on Space Mountian! Is there something i don't know about on how to get to the line or what's going on??

Thanks

I have seen the signs there for a while, but the lines never were in use. They probably get used during peak time periods, and are used similar to the single rider lines on MS and TT.

The "all parties will be separated" line is just in place so groups don't use the smaller wait time benifit of the single rider line, and then complain that they can't ride together.

Well I just got back from WDW and I was at the MK last Tuesday and it was one of the most crowded days I have ever seen at the MK (It was almost like Christmas day or the 4th of July) and they were not using the Single Rider Line at Space Mountain then. I, too, hope they start using this because there are ALOT of empty seats most of the time and it would also be nice to get multiple rides with a lower wait. This is one attraction that would really benefit from a SRL.

I believe they tested Space Mountain with this "single rider" feature a while back. From what I understood, they were going to continue with this feature due to its success. I guess it's only open during the very busy times (Chirstmas, July 4, etc...).

They implement the signs so they can fill up all the trains rather than having 5 people on 1 train when a single rider in line could have gotten in the train w/o a wait.

A quick question

Where would they make the line tie-in to Tomorrowland? SM has such a long and vast tunnel system currently in use for Enterance and Exit, I wonder where there is room!

I have thought about that myself. I really don't know. I don't visit WDW until the 23rd of this month so I'm not familiar with the new setup visually. The only way I can think of is use the Fastpass line.

Our single riders line is only for once you are inside the building. So you chill in the stand-by line all the way until that sign.

In terms of when it is used. Only during really really big times. Last tuesday really wasn't all that bad. Last time it was used was for the frist half of gay day...then we switch back over to normel line.

People it has to be PACKED for us to use that line. The amount of guest situations that show up at the new merges is horrible. I remember when we had someone from guest services was there for most of the day to try and clam people down.

I really hate it and hope its never used again...but I know that will never be.

so how would you say recent crowds have been- these past few days, in comparison to memorial day weekend, which i found to be suprisingly quiet! Also, what do you expect for this coming weekend, if there's even any way of predciting those kinds of things.

thanks:cool:

Well if you have to wait in the standby line until that point it defeats the purpose of having a SRL  .

I really don't know the best way to use it though. I wish they could create a way to enter up that exit ramp without going through the "postshow". But that is much easier said than done. A SRL could really be useful at Space Mountain but getting people to that point really does seem to be an enigma.

you get to by-pass the butterflyes on the load dock...it saves a average of about 35 minutes

But getting a single riders line from the start really would require them to redo the whole line. That is the only thing I belive needs to be fixed in space.

these past few days seem are average as far as I can tell. But Memorial day was crazy in terms of people not being there. I almost fainted when I saw our line to only be 30 minutes at mid day with out down time
