I have been hopping on every few hours to
see how busy the parks are, but there have been no notices.

Are thing thinner than usual, or are the updates not being reported?

The Magic Kingdom did reach a Phase 3 closure today, which means only WDW Resort guests, AP/Premium AP Holders, and Free-on-Birthday ticket holders were granted entry for a little while today.

Does this mean they're running all the fast pass machines? Who wants to get my fast passes for the attractions listed in my signature?

^That and I think the various snowy weather across the US over the past week has messed up a few travel plans here and there. Just my guess though.

Magic Kingdom on Christmas day only busy leading up to the Christmas parade and Fireworks after that it is dead. To me if you can handle the cold night best day to be there. Because it is not the one five busy Holidays at the Magic Kingdom. Most people come for the parade the Fireworks then leave.

We got to Animal Kingdom around noon, and walked on everything. I was surprised! It rained in the morning, with a brief rainshowere later but really it was a nice day! I saw longer lines at the beginning of the week. We've enjoyed all the nighttime fireworks and especially all the wonderful decorations everywhere!!

Do you think it will be like this during NYE? Going to Orlando next monday . It would be nice to have the parks not as crowded as expected

For Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Animal Kingdom had very light crowds. My waiter at Tusker House said that they were expecting much larger crowds today... I'm not going over there to find out if he was correct though! :ROFLOL:

I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure NYE is the busiest day..if not it's usually more crowded than on xmas day.

We got to Hollywood Studios a little after 10am yesterday. Midway Mania had a 10 minute wait, RnR-15, without the virtual queue, Tower-13 and shows like BnB, Mermaid, and Playhouse were not full. We were also able to book character breakfast at O'hana and lunch at Brown Derby on the same day! Got to Magic Kingdom around 5 with no wait at the turnstiles and attractions weren't too bad. Tony's were taking walk-ins.

Yes, NYE will be the busiest day of the year, expect some phase closings, at least for MK if nothing else. Unless you are going for the general atmosphere (as opposed to specific attractions), I'd stay far away.

Example: wait time for the MExican boat ride at Epcot exceeds 30 minutes on NYE every year (with a queue extended out the side of the pavillion and down the temple steps.) This alone tells you all you need to know.

Darn - and I thought parks will be packed to the brim on that day! Any Brazilians or Argentinians spotted that day, if you went there?

We were at MK both Christmas day and today (26th).

Granted, we are going in at 7am and out around 2pm, but yesterday seemed pretty empty. (3 different substantial downpours helped that - 7am, about 10:30am, and 1pm). Today was much more crowded than yesterday, but still not painful. Both days we have been able to do well more than half the park worth of rides in half a day.

WOW! The crowd must have decended at 8 after the EMH. We did SM twice in a row with no wait at all at around 7:30am. We actually felt bad stopping to do the new queue games and telling the few people who came in to go around us. That was after doing all of FL except Dumbo (raining too hard) in the half hour prior.

Not to mention on NYE the Imagination ride will have a queue that extends outside the building. Scary thought.
