My wife, grandparents, and I will be headed to Orlando in March (15-22). We will spend a day or two at Disney but would like to know what else in/near Orlando may be fun to do (other than theme parks and preferally on the cheap side). Also, we plan to spend our last two days near orlando (half an hour out or less) if we can find a location of interest that close so we don't have far to go back to the airport on the last day, any thoughts?

There's always universal, Sea World parks, you could do an air boat tour to see natural Florida, the beach is only an hour away, Kennedy Space Center, and even Old town in Kissimmee has a few good shops.

There will be different festivals going on in the spring like Art Festivals in several cities, the Grant SeaFood Festival in Grant, etc. . Winter Park is cool place to window shop. Mall at Millenia has a lot of cool stores to shop in or just walk through and look at things ya can't afford. <g> .

Fort Christmas is a good way to spend a quiet peaceful day. There are picnic areas, a playground, tennis courts, basketball courts, a replica of the original fort(Seminole war era) that is a museum, old Florida houses, etc. to walk through. It is free, but you might leave a donation in the old house area. it is out on Rt 50 just about 10 miles from Orlando maybe. We enjoy spending time in the park. Sometimes they have music and stuff .planned.
