looking at the dining plan for next year and just want to make sure i had it streight...we didnt get it on our last trip but there did seem to be some confusion at the cash regesters when people were paying. We are planing on staying for 7 nights so we would recieve 7 snacks, 7 sit down meals, and 7 counter service meals? the snacks could be anything from pop corn , bottled water, pretzils, what about dole whips? or is there a price limit i did see some people getting pastrys though at breakfast and using it as a snack... the counter service meals would include a drink and whatever meal you choose at places like cosmic rays and the food courts in thw hotel (if i wanted to choose a pizza then an additional side salad would the side salad be included?what is the limit?) and finally the sit down meals include a drink, appatizer, main course, desert per person? it seems like a really good deal now that i think about it if im on the right path because we are looking at places like chef mickeys, concourse steak house, crystal palace, ltt for breakast or dinner.

It goes by the number of nights you are staying, not days. So for a 7 day stay, you are entitled to 6 CS, 6 Snacks, 6 TS. For breakfast at the CS places, you get the entree, drink and pastry; for lunch or dinner it is entree, drink, dessert. Sit down is exactly correct what you think. The snacks they have now added most items in the parks that are $4 and under and they are indicated with a DDP symbol next to the item on the menu board and I think someone said dole whips were included. Here's a site that explains things in more detail http://www.allearsnet.com/pl/packages06a.htm

The majority of restaurants are included on the plan, some require 2 TS credits to eat at (CRT, Brown Derby, Cali Grill, Narcoosee's, Citricos, Yachtsman Steakhouse, Flying Fish) and Victoria & Albert's and Le Bistro aren't on the plan at all.

Now, on the link above and on the Disney website. For lunch it says you can order a entree/combo meal and a dessert. For instance, if I went to the Columbia Harbor House and orderd a combo meal, (chicken fingers, fries and a coke), I can order a Mickey's Premium Ice Cream Bar?

Also, are you limited to certain choices on the menu? Or may I order the Lobster and the Yachtsmen?

Thanks in advance!

You are not limited as to what you can order. You can order the lobster at the Yachtsman.... which you darn well better, because it's costing you 2 table service credits. ;) We tended to order higher priced items, since we felt justified to get "our money's worth" from the Dining Plan. :)

As for your CHH question, yes, if the Mickey ice cream bar is available there as a dessert (only eaten there once or twice... and not recently).

Snacks under $4 are fair game, I believe. When you see a menu where you'd like a snack, look for the DDP logo next to items that are eligible for the Dining Plan.

You just can't "add on" lobster. If it says it's an extra fee-- you have to pay the extra fee. But if it is a Surf and Turf or just lobster meal -- I think you can order that. But if it is an add on, then you will pay for the add on.
