An updated Primeval Whirl for The Good Dinosaur movie.

re-opening of WOL pavilion, new country(ies) announced for EPCOT, repurposing of Millennium Village, re-opening or repurposing of Odyssey restaurant...yeah, I miss the 1996 EPCOT if you couldn't tell :oops:. (yes, technically I know Millennium Village is not 1996 so insert re-opening of Imagination second floor in it's place for correctness if you like)

I really liked the Toy Story and Star Wars announcements over at the Studios. The wait was agonizing and I'm glad they are finally giving new rides to the Studios. That being said, I wish they announced something for Epcot besides Soarin' Around the World and more details about the Frozen ride. I love Soarin and I am glad they are addressing the capacity issue though I kinda wish they addressed the problem much earlier, don't get me wrong.

But I sincerely don't think a revitalized Soarin' and Frozen ride is really enough for Epcot. There's still a bunch of outdated attractions and I want a new groundbreaking ride for that park. There's no excuses for keeping Captain EO, Ellen's Universe of Energy or the even the current version of the Imagination ride for so long. Idealistically, I would close down the old rides right away but I would give the Imagineers a three choice ultimatum with the Imagination ride. Make a new version, bring back the original version or destroy it completely. As for new rides, I'm thinking maybe a roller coaster because Epcot (A maglev train inspired ride comes to mind for me.) doesn't have one and an attraction utilizing the famous trackless ride system at the other Disney parks like Mystic Manor and the Ratatouille ride in Paris. Also, rides from movies that have not been represented like Wall-E, the Incredibles or Big Hero 6 I think could work with the Future World theme. And for World Showcase, I want new countries, goshdarnit! At least give me one or two more new pavilions!

Still, the cynic in me thinks we won't hear anything regarding an Epcot makeover until 2017, the next D23 Expo....

Well my wish was granted when they announced the Star Wars addition. I'd like to see more details. But its wonderful that they finally announced something thats going to breathe new life into the property. I was really hoping for another stand alone park to help filter out the crowds weve been having, but this is better than complete stagnation. theres new hope in the land.
