Yes I had a nightmare, it was horrifying and sadly its already happened to El Rio del Tiempo. Right now I am thanking god that they only changed the audio and the projections.

The only one I could see is Thor, but I for one hope they do not put any characters in Norway. Although I could see them putting goofy in a viking outfit as well as some others, but like I said I hope they do not.

seriously though, the more cartoons they add to EPCOT, the harder it is to understand the message

For all intents and purposes, Epcot has no message at this point. EPCOT had one, but that was more or less thrown away when EPCOT Center became Epcot '94, and subsequently Epcot.

Sad but true.

Epcot died when Walt unfortunately died. I'm sorry but I believe the same message Epcot had when it opened in 1982 is the same one now. Take it away Mr. Walker:

"EPCOT is inspired by Walt Disney's creative vision. Here, human achievements are celebrated through imagination, wonders of enterprise and concepts of a future that promises new and exciting benefits for all."-
Mr. Walker

Ok so at Innoventions we see human achievements and they are given a creative twist for the general public to understand. With enterprise and the public's future in mind these exhibits help shape individual
's future.

Once again Mr. Walker:

"May EPCOT Center entertain, inform and inspire and above all, may it instill a new sense of belief and pride in man's ability to shape a world that offers hope to people everywhere in the world."

Ok so Epcot has attractions like Test Track that entertain. Living With The Land that informs. And believe or not I think The Seas inspires a younger generation to take an interest in the oceans. Rides like Spaceship Earth instill in its riders belief that the future is still being shaped for everyone in the world.

So what message does the Epcot of today not fit?

Well Norway is one of the countries that no longer receives the support from the actual country. That's how the princesses ended up in the restaurant there. It wouldn't surprise me to see some changes happen to Maelstrom one way or another. It's received little to no attention since it opened in the late 80's and overall it's in pretty rough condition from a maintenance/up-keep aspect.

I'd like to see them do away with some of the realistic aspects of the ride and include more fantasy. No offense to Norway. The troll part just goes by way too fast. The polar bear can stay. He's cool. I always skip the movie at the end. They should just have that running in ye olde gift shoppe.
