I am planning my family's first trip to Disney. Attending are myself, my husband, my parents, and my three year old daughter.

We are hoping to hit Magic Kingdom, Universal Studios, Sea World, and Typhoon Lagoon between May 3 - 10.

I am trying to get ideas of what days would be best to hit which park to avoid the largest crowds (especially for Magic Kingdom).

I would greatly appreciate any suggestions from the more experienced Disney goers!!!! :)

Hey! Welcome to the WDWMagic forums! This has been mentioned in a previous thread, but I'll help ya out anyways with what I know!:) First of all, never EVER go to the Magic Kingdom on Mondays, it is the most crowded day of the week. I've heard that Epcot is least busiest toward the middle week, so go then.:D

For the MK I suggest Wednesday or Thursday. I would say those are the least crowded days, but it also depends on the season.

For Universal I would say the same, City Walk usually gets crowded on weekend nights.

You should not have a problem with Sea World.

As for Typhoon Lagoon, I would say it depends on the season and how hot it is. Hot = Crowds

It would appear best to avoid ALL the parks over a weekend - as this is when most of the local Florida residents attend.
If your visit covers a weekend then avoid MK, although all parks will be busier than normal.

I agree with orangefan15, about avoiding MK on the weekend.
I had to go to MK on Saturdays, the last two years I have gone because of meeting friends there who could only go on the weekend.

I never heard that Mondays were the busiest day of the week, DisneyWonders07, but I'll keep that in mind also for my next trip to MK.

Actually, this is something I've been wondering about since we are planning for a June trip. In my previous years of research, there were two reasons why to avoid MK on Mondays. (1) Sunday is a big travel day for people starting their vacations. Arrive on Sunday, first stop on the week at WDW: why, MK on Monday, of course. (2) When Early Entry (now called Extra Magic Hour) was going on before it left for a year, MK was Early Entry on Mondays (it's been reported that Sunday and Thursday are now Extra Magic Hour for MK). This led for a very crowed park in the afternoon.

But, I wonder how this affects crowds now? With word getting out that MK is Extra Magic Hour on Sunday, will that ease the crowds on Monday? Or will the crowds still be unaffected? Or will the polar ice cap melt and people in Arizona have beach front property?

Unfortunately, The Unoffical Guide book was published before Extra Magic Hour started, so that source is not truly accurate. Plus, we won't really know until we hit some major crowd seasons, like spring break. Hopefully, we'll get some posts on this as more people go during spring break.
