What Can I expect from CBR?

I am going to be spending 15 nights at Disney's CBR starting late Feb. I am going on my honeymoon.

I live in SW Florida and went by the resort on the way back from a Christmas vacation in NC. I stopped at the resort and got pictures and saw how beautiful it was at CBR.

However, I have not gotten the experience. What can I expect from this resort. I have never stayed on the property and cannot wait. I don't mind waiting for buses and in lines and the such since Im there for a while, but, I want to get there and not touch my car until I leave.

What are some experiences from this resort in particular: Good and Bad?

CBR seems to have a strong love\hate relationship at this board. Some people swear by it (like me) while others act like it's Joe & Jim's Bed and Breakfast in the worst part of town.

I usually go in late November and I love grabbing a cold one from the poolside bar (Banana Cabana) and then walking around the lake checking things out. It's a nice lengthy walk. I love the atmosphere altogether of the place.

Old Port Royale has all kinds of food, so there should be no problem finding something to eat that you will like.

Where are you staying? South Trinidad is the farthest 'island' that's near anything. it kind of sits off by itself while the other islands surround the main part of the lake. It's usually the least preferred.

Overall, I love CBR and we never hesitate to book there. We do exactly what you want to do, park the car, and ride the busses. The busses run (at least when I've been there) often through the resort, so wait times shouldn't be long.

My wife and I did the 14 night honeymoon thing at the Caribbean and it was awesome! It was always nice to spend the day at the parks, evenings at Downtown Disney/Pleasure Island and then come back to the resort for a late night soak in the relaxing hot tub.

My advice to you is; since you are staying for 15 nights, don’t rush anything. By day 9 you will have seen almost everything. So spend your time relaxing and making memories with your new spouse. Just relax and the Disney environment will take care of the rest.

You will have a great time!

You can expect nothing but the best from Caribbean Beach. Having stayed there about 11 or 12 times, the best views are from the Aruba building, rooms 5260--5256....5256 and 5257 being corner rooms. We actually request those rooms each trip. They overview an unobstructive view of the lake, one of the only areas that does so, on the second floor, and also has some pool views. You also look over the lake to the most colorful and tropical part of the Resort, Old Port Royale, the marina, Parrot Cay Island, and the footbridges. Def. request one of these rooms for the supreme views!!

The bus system here is very good also, no complaints.
