What can Disney do to better manage new Attractions

I just came back was in Animal Kingdom last week and they had over a 4 hour wait for the Avatar Attraction. Kind of expected this but other than people that visit this site most people may only get one shot at Walt Disney World.

Must be extremely disappointing for people.

Is there anything Disney can do to shorten wait times on new popular Attractions ?

Short of reserving each and every available seat, and telling everyone else they have no chance of riding it, no.

I dont think theres anything they possibly can do. A new attraction is going to be very very popular and one the majority of guests are going to be specifically targeting on their trip back to WDW. Any ride has a certain capacity to flow guests through from start to finish. That number cant be changed much because ride through times are set. Figure in breakdowns, stops for loading and unloading disabled persons, and anything that disrupts the timing and you have backups. Long lines and waits are going to exist for a long time until the newness of a ride ends and is replaced by the next new thing. Even then, if a ride stays popular and is a crowd favorite it will remain one with long lines/waits.

Sure, build more than 2 attractions when opening a new area. For some reason, two seems to be the magic number for new areas and it often comes up short.

New Fantasyland got Belle and Ariel (at opening), Pandora has FoP and NRJ, Toy Story will have Slinky and Saucers, and Star Wars will have Millennium Falcon and Escape. The only exception I can think of it Cars Land, with 2 B/C Tickets and one E ticket.

More attractions would result in shorter lines.
