I think I remember reading there will be a worldwide celebration at the Disney themeparks, or at least also at WDW, but don't quote me on that. Details of actual events, i guess just new fireworks, parades, attractions or buildings, eg. Mickey's Sorcerer hat at Disney Studios for 100 years of Magic.

Sir Nim said that he heard that they'll be adding new scenes to some of the classics in Disneyland- which is a pretty good idea.. I don't know if they will be doing this to WDW- we'll have to wait and see :)

No new attractions will be coming to WDW for DL's 50th.

All parks will celebrate Fifty Years of Disney Parks with small tributes and signage, probably focused at one park (Like 100YoM at MGM). The closest thing too a new ride at WDW at this time may be Everest, if it gets done by0 late 2005.

DL is getting a rebuilt Space Mountain, a new parade, a new fireworks show, a repainted Small World, possibly some sort of walk-through tribute, and a soon-to -be-announced Buzz Lightyear. The major rehabs and added scenes for the classics is out. And were it not for Jay Rasulo, so would be Space and Buzz.

Oh,and there will be pins....lots and lots of pins.:snore:

Disneyland is getting Buzz Lightyear (Tokyo-version, better than WDW), a new Space Mountain, a new parade and spectacular fireworks show. They don't know what to do about the castle though: repaint it or not, make it shimmer or grey like in the 50ies, or make it gold ?. DCA will get a new parade.

WDW is getting the new motor Stunt Show in MGM and will soft open Expedition Everest in the fall of 2005, as well as tributes all over the World. There are also talks to open a Soarin over California-Epcot and update the Living Seas with a Finding Nemo theme before 2005.

Tokyo is getting a new Indiana Jones roller coaster in Disney Sea, and surely a big splashy celebration with tributes all around, as well as a Tower of Terror for the end of the birthday.

Disneyland Resort Paris will get a Tower of Terror...in time for the birthday?? It will be difficult... more likely in 2006.

DCA is only getting a new parade.I can't belive that It needs at least 1 major e-ticket attraction to get guest to come to the park. Other wise DCA will be Screwed for ever. :(

Just got back from DL/DCA last week and DCA is getting TOT spring 04 if that counts for the 50th or not. But it will give them another e-ticket attraction.

I am glad Disneyland will finally be getting the main spotlight. It was way overlooked for Walt's 100th birthday.

Let's hope Art Linkletter can host the 50th Anniversary Celebration while Fess Parker and Buddy Ebsen sing about the gun: "Betsy". Also, there should be a focus on Tommorowland and the wondrous future of 1986, where daily trips to the moon are possible.

As for WDW, there will probably be a parade, new signs, and (hopefully) Everest.
