I was looking arround on Google Earth today and I came across something I had not seen before. There is a canal that goes from the Rivers of America to the Seven Seas Lagoon. Along the East side of the canal there appears to be 14 barges docked/tied up.

Does anyone know what they are and what they are for?

Yep, you can also see the barges in the canal from one of the rides. I believe that's it's the Magic Kingdom train ride.

You're probably thinking of seeing them from the monorail between the MK and Grand Floridian. They're easily visible.

I'm not sure that there's anywhere inside the park where they can be seen, even from the railroad as you cross the bridge past BTMRR.
