What are the Statistics?

I was wondering if anyone could tell me a website to go to where I could view statistics on rides. Or if anyone could tell me how fightening some of the rides are. I have kids and I never went when I was real young so I just want to make sure they're not frightened to much. They're 5 and 3. Thanks:D

I don't know of a website with the info you want, but I highly recommend a book called "Walt Disney World with Kids" by Kim Wright Wiley. We have the 2000 edition, but I'm sure there's an up to date one out.

We used this book while planning our trip back in 2000 and it is great. It talks about everything from "Before You Leave Home" (chapter 1) to "Life Beyond Disney World" (chapter 16).

Don't let the number of chapters deter you. It's large print and alot of "bullet format" info.

It has all kinds of "Helpful Hints", "Insider's Secrets", and "Scare Factor" ratings for attractions/rides.

It's broken down by parks with quick guides to the attractions which list Attraction, Location, Height Requirements, Speed of Line, Duration of Ride/Show, Scare Factor, and Age Range.

It's a fantastic book. Get it! You won't regret it! I promise!

Another book to try is the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World. It has all sorts of tips for parents of small children as well as giving actual accounts from readers of what their children found scary. The book is well worth the money. I've bought one every year since 1997!

Their ages are perfect! My son was three when we first went. I had a bit of a negative attitude at first, but seeing the look on his face as we just walked through the parks looking at magical thing after magical thing is what has made me a fan for life.

Except for the few "Thrill" rides, most of the rides are pretty tame, but if your children are scared of the dark, they may not like things even as innocent as "It's a Small World".

If they are a bit timid, you will probably still find there are more things to do than you have time for.

Read up a bit, and if you have specific questions, you'll get a wealth of information from the people on these boards.

If this is their first trip....start them out very slowly...Small World, Pooh
move up to Teacups and Dumbo,
then Peter Pan....etc.
They will have the most incredible time! Have a ball!
