What a horrible day!

Hi everyone

I just had the worst day I've had in a long time, so I thought I'd make a place for all of us to sorta vent when we have a particularly bad experience with something.

My day was a 15 hour long one at work. Here's why it was so horrible: First of all, I work at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom. We have been allowed to wear halloween costumes for this entire month, so I created a sorcerer mickey costume to wear. I'd been talking about it for a couple of weeks, and I really saw nothing wrong with wearing it (nor did my coworkers). But, apparently the right people weren't around because before we even opened I had to take it off because our operations manager had a problem with it. The thing that really peed me off though was that other employees got away with disney princess dresses and one with a sponge bob (that technically advertises kings island since they have nickelodeon characters and a sponge bob 3d show).

Okay, then the morning was really slow while we had 2 members of management there. As soon as the other sup left, it was like a million people "magically" appeared in our lines. Seriously, I think attendence like tripled. So here I am getting yelled at by angered guests about the lines, dealing with bad people using other people's season passes and so on. We got the lines under control and everything was cool. It all happened again and everything eventually came back under control. So, then a few hours later, someone set a ticket booth on fire and I had a million people screaming fire and knocking on every window (which I was by myself at the time because my seller was giving another employee a break). We got the fire under control and out and then my employee in the haunted house ticket booth got sick and :hurl: . So I had to send her home and my one seller to that booth and be by myself again. It seems like bad things always happen when I'm in charge. I seem to really attract the psychos! :lookaroun

It was really bad and I'm so glad it's over now. That's the only good thing about today. Tomorrow's the last day of our season and I'm off (thank God!). The girl I worked for today is working for me tomorrow (otherwise I would have been closing tomorrow too :fork: ).

Anyways, not that ya'll probably care, but I just needed to vent and cool off after my super crappy day. Thanks for listenin and if anyone else wants to blow off any steam after a particularly bad day, I'm willing to listen as well.

Aww!! That sounds like an awful day! :( I sure hope tomorrow's better for ya!

Good idea to start this thread. Sometimes you just need a place to vent. :)

Thanks! It should be better (I think). I'm off, so that already makes me happy. Plus I get to watch the NASCAR race in Atlanta, although it will be really sad cause the whole pre-race is gonna be a tribute to the 10 people who died in the Hendricks plane crash last week. :(

Yikes, sorry to hear you had such a bad day! I really hope tomorrow goes better for you! It sounds like my marching band's recent trip to Toronto. Just one huge fiasco after another. It started off with a rehearsal that was billed as a 45 minute refresher that blossomed into a 2 1/2 hr. rehearsal because Canadian and American field dimensions are different, and we'd only practiced with Canadian measurements once. The crowning glory of our trip came when one of the colorguard members threw her rifle up, and it landed squarely on her head. She had to go to the hospital, which caused us to be five hours late coming back, meaning that we got back at 3:30 a.m. It was 4 by the time I got back to my dorm, and I had an 8 o'clock class. By the way, the guard member is doing fine now.

Good to hear that the colorguard person is okay now. Wow, that's why I'm glad I was never in marching band. Orchestras don't have to march (although it would be a funny site, especially the cello and bass players!). We once went to an orchestra competition and my teacher left the scores at school. One of the parents drove like a madwoman to go back to school and get them for us.

Vent away - it's never a bad thing after a rotten day. The other thing I find helps is to sing at the top of my lungs - give it a try :D
