I am coming in August and will be traveling from Nashville, TN... 75 S almost all the way... Directions read to take Western Way into the WDW Resort... I don't know that I've ever seen this entrance. What is the view coming in? Anything visible? What is it near? Thanks.

If you are taking 75 to the Fl Turnpike, you now exit for 429 south (there are signs directing that it is for disney world) toward Tampa.
This exit is about 10 miles earlier than I4.
About 10 miles down 429 is the exit for WDW. You come in the side of the property near Coronado and AK.
Note: once on WDW property the speed limit decreases to 35 and it seems way to slow considering the open road there...
follow it, there are speed traps a lot of the time.

Actually , trying to remember, i think they have that big arch with mickey and minnie welcomeing you. Also there are tons of build boards on the way with disney, and other parks and interesting stuff!!!
I dont know which way it is. I just am telling u what i see when i go.

I go from Orlando Airport, so what ever way the directions to the disney hotel is what i use!
Hope This Helps Again!

I've taken this route my past two trips to WDW and I love it! Traffic is almost non-existent. You do have to pay a $1 toll about halfway through the road. No biggie.

You take the 429 South exit and keep going until you hit Exit 8, which says Disney World. Once you get off that exit, it dumps you right onto the property. Do watch your speed as the local SO tends to watch that road a lot.

I would highly recommend taking this route. It's very easy to use.

Do what Matpez says! You don't have to go into Orlando anymore and take I-4 (what a relief). As you approach the WDW resort (ON 429) you may see (to the leFt) the Epcot Geosphere, and the Tree of Life (unless there are wildfires burning nearby, like last May:lol: ). Your exit off of 429 will be #8 (you will only have to pay a $1 toll on 429 South) and then you will be directed to take a left after you exit to WDW. You will proceed past "backstage" parts of WDW (Landskeeping, etc.) and will enter the main roads of WDW between the Coronado Springs Resort and DAK.
Be aware that I've seen the Highway Patrol poised at the back entrance of CS waiting for someone to speed.
You will come to a "dead end" on Buena Vista Drive, follow the signs to your resort from there (All Star Resorts and AKL will turn right, everyone else will turn left).
Have a magical stay!

We took this route from Alabama in April. I think we saw a total of 3 cars going in and out. I don't know about speed traps, but I do know it cut a few minutes off our total drive time.

One member on here work for the Highway Dept. and if he sees this I am sure he can tell all of us a lot more about it.

The entrance is strange and desolate (much like a lot of area west of WDW) The only thing you can really see is Everest and some of the Tree of Life. There is a good gap between the entrance gate and actual guest areas... but you get to see just how much room for expansion they have in this area! Its crazy.

Actually, there's a spot on this road - at the top of an incline - where you also can see the Contemporary, Cinderella Castle, Space Mountain and (I think I remember this) Tower of Terror. Kinda hard to remember as I was whizzing by at 75 mph. :D

And as far as the cops, I've only seen them on WDW property - not on the main road. Speed limits there are 45 and 35 mph.

75 south is terrible until you hit florida. Driving through gerogia sucks, especially through ATL and the long constructions zones they have, along with the cops every two miles. BUt once you hit Florida you feel the charm and get excited because disney signs start popping up, along with Busch Gardens, Universal studios, seaworld and the space center. Once you hit Florida, their becomes a lot to look at. When you hit Disney, Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and i think Pluto are there to welcome you.

There is a little rise in 429 that allows you to see the larger buildings on property (Castle, SM, Contemp, Swan & Dolphin, EE, etc.). As mentioned, take exit 8 to WDW. The speed limit is 45 until to pass over the bridge just before CS then it decreases to 35. Sometimes there are police just by CS because of this speed limit change.

Yep you can see some good stuff from the Western Beltway. On the horizon you can see the Contemp, the castle, space mountain, Swan, Dolphin, Spaceship Earth (will be harder to spot once the wand is gone), ToT, Everest and the Tree of Life.

As you get onto the Western Way (the Disney road), you will see the Welcome to WDW archway, Everest up close and personal, and then the side of Coronado Springs.

It's a great road, and a nice way to enter WDW. Highly recommend it!

Yep, being able to see all that from that far away is pretty cool. Favorite part of that drive for me. Not sure if I've ever noticed ToT though.

I took it this past March on our second WDW vacation and liked it way better than the other way we took our first trip down there 2 years ago. I would not have even known about it this time if it wasn't for a lady at one of the Florida Welcome Centre's telling me about it. I don't even remember seeing another car on either side of the road to tell you the truth and the scenery was just fantastic!:sohappy:
