I know that Disneyland is landlocked so it can not expand, but if it could would you want to see the plans for WestCot go into action.

I think WestCot is dead. Most of the attractions that Epcot has have been placed within DCA. I am sure Disney could purchase more land in Anaheim but given the close proximety of residential homes that would peve many off.

Disneyland can expand, if Disney really wanted to.

To answer your original question, no, I wouldn't. I'm not a fan of clones. I will make the trips and visit WDW for experiences we don't have here in California. Should we get a third gate, I'd like the idea and concept to be original.

I just read another sites story of Westcot. If it truly would have been built it seems it would have been great but a complete replication of Epcot but on a grander scale. What Westcot was has become DCA (that I did not know). Truly an amazing read.

I think WestCOT Center was different enough from the EPCOT Center that it was more an evolution than a clone.

WestCOT didn't evolve into Disney's California Adventure. It was complete scrapped after a few revisions (not sure who thought the neighbors would be cool with a 300' tall gold dome or an equally tall gold spire). Disney's California Adventure more grew out of the Disney's America project.

DL is locked? As in there will be no more parks? I don't know where they'd go lol it makes sense.
The third gate will go on the site of the current Toy Story Parking Lot, which was built under a variance because the land remains designated for a theme park. Tho make up for the loss of spaces, the Pumbaa Parking Lot plus some land to the north of the lot will become a parking structure. There is also a bit of room to expand the Mickey and Friends Parking Structure.

I always thought the released plans for WesCot were too amibtious and did not make any cosiderations of what was around them. Imgaine putting Epcot's SSE right outside Disneyland's gate, then realize the planned dome was going to be BIGGER than SSE. It would destroy the sightlines all around Disneyland, not to mention what it would do to the city skyline. Angry neighbors indeed.

Because of the space, many of the attractions were planned to be built underground skyrocketing the price.

In the end, it doesn't seem feasible it would ever get built as imagined.

Do you know if it would be expanded East-West or North-South? It's already a bit of a hike if you get parked all the way on the Western end of the structure.

It wasn't going to be bigger than SSE... it was going to be GINORMOUSLY FANTABULOUSLY HUMONGOUSER than SSE! SSE is "only" 183' tall... I can't imagine why they possibly thought they needed to go all the way to 300' for WestCOT. Standing under that "tiny little" SSE, you already feel pretty small; I can't imagine what it would be like standing underneath a 300' globe! It's craziness, really.
