The "day and date" method was always suppose to be temporary while theaters weren't fully open.

Jungle Cruise is the last movie scheduled to be "day and date."

Free Guy (Aug 13); Shang-Chi (Sep 3); Eternals (Nov 5) are all exclusively theatrical release (though on the shortened 45 day window).

I haven't seen this yet, but I have been hesitant because I dislike the original musical and film so much. I WILL be seeing it because I heard that everything I disliked about it has been fixed in this version.
