I just got an email that said there was some new concept art on the Harry Potter site. All it was was a generic store but then I clicked on the polls and the newest one said:

Which dragon would you like to ride?

a chinese fireball
a hungarian horntail

Seems like that's solid proof Dueling Dragons is staying pretty much the same but with some new themeing.

Quiddich is a major scene in the new dark ride. The Dragons will still be themed as Dragons, but all the reference to death will be removed. The queue is going to be completely redone. Not removed; it wlll still be themed; all of the skeletons and corpses are going away though.

As has been widely speculated for a long time now - the ride will be themed to the Dragon quest of the Triwizard Tournament. It will have a new name, and the new name isn't nearly as cool as "Dueling Dragons."

I feel confident that they are both staying. Take a look at the link below. I roughed in the structure on an aerial photo. Way past Sinbad. Sinbad is a necessary crowd eater so it would not make sense to lose.

But will they start running "Poseidon" again to it's full potential? I mean currently it is on a show schedule and no water Vortex. Recently when I was there, even the water effects outside of Mythos were off. :(

Maybe it's because there's currently a drought.:shrug:

It's been off for quite awhile (the vortex effect). I even know it was mentioned in another thread a while back. I have a source at Uni in the know (really) and it is not related to the drought. Neither is Jaws opening at 11:00, limited Sinbad shows, or Twister going seasonal.
Let's hope HRRR and WWoHP help draw in the crowds!

True. What is the fate of the flying unicorn going to be? It was boarded off on my last trip, will it just be a retheme?

I know its a kids ride, but when you have an express pass you just have to do it :).

It was still up but boarded off as of 2 weeks ago.

My question is if they are planning 2 dragons still for DD why ask which you would rather ride? Could this be a rethinking of Flying Unicorn for the kiddies... Fly on a tame baby dragon? Just a thought to throw out there.

Thats a very good point.

Alternatively maybe they already have the name for one dragon and are deciding the name for the second?

The question about the dragons has nothing to do with Flight of the Hippogr...um, I mean...Flying Unicorn.:lookaroun
It's all about that first challenge thing....you know...with dragons and all.
