I can only speak for myself, but I booked my upcoming trip last August and then received the welcome book from Disney a few weeks later.

We've gotten ours at different times. Sometimes a few weeks after we booked and other times closer to the trip...maybe a month or so out. We just booked this year's trip a few weeks ago and haven't gotten anything. Nothing like seeing your name on that packet to really get you excited!!!!

Nooooo!!!!! That was so exciting to get in the mail!!! But...I will say it was unnecessary. Especially once you've been a time or two...it was just a fun way to get the kids excited for the trip. Glad they are saving the paper though!!!

We received one of those packets for our June trip back in Nov. or Dec. (it was about a month after we rented points from David’s). I was surprised to have received one since we rented points. But it had all the info about where we were staying, when we could book dining, etc.

I think the OP's question was - Was it the Incredibles packet?
Can't find the one for my April trip.....but for my May one (which was booked mid-Feb)... it is not Incredibles.

I hadn't received anything other then my magic bands and my DME stuff.
That's all a room only reservation receives. A MYW package receives a voucher card for Magical extras

I never have stayed on property, so I don't know anything about the Welcome packet, but when you could order those parks maps, they would have your name printed on them when they came too! Definitely excitement! These little things is what sets Disney apart from other theme parks, shame on them if they stopped this!
We got our "Your Magical Vacation Starts Right Now,..." pamphlets about 10 days after we reserved our main resort stay for September. It's room only, and the mailing included details like our reservation numbers and dates.
In February, we added a night, again, room only, at a different resort, and got nothing but an email.
