We have been members since 2003 but only have stayed at our home resort (SSR) once back in Dec of 2004 (We've gotten lucky with standbys and have been able to stay at VWL and BW the last few years). Anyways...we will be spending 11 days at SSR begining Sept 27th. I remember that just Congress Park was open when we stayed in 2004. Do they have all of Phase II and any of Phase III open now? Have the crowds at the main pool gotten much larger now? How many additional pools are there? I'd love some feedback from anyone that has vacationed at SSR recently to see what types of changes I may be in store for.

Thanks,

Hi!
All phases of SSR are now open! The newest is the Grandstand...It opened the last day of my trip in May...So I haven't had the opportunity to stay in it yet, I have requested it for my December trip..
Each section of SSR has their own quiet pool, w/the exception of the Springs because they are directly across from the main pool there-High Rocks Springs..
Grandstand section also has a main pool! Water area for kids, and a pool bar!
Hope this helped a little!

Carousel also doesn't have its pool. It shares with the Paddock, and the walk can be quite extensive. I also think the Paddock's pool is significantly smaller than Congress Park's for a similar number of buildings. It may be that Carousel folk find it easier to go to Grandstand, which generally looks great.

We've stayed at SSR twice and have enjoyed it both times. When you there, there was no table service, but they've added that now. Turf Club Bar & Grill. The food is good and ample, but a little pricey. (It's Disney!).

Given the length of your trip, you should have plenty of time to relax into what SSR has to offer.
