Week before Easter or June

Hello!

I am planning a trip for 2020 and our two options are the (dreaded) week before Easter or Mid June. There are many factors between the two (potential blockout dates, one guest will be 2 in April, but 3 in June, room is cheaper in June, etc) Anyways, my main focus I guess is crowds. I'm guessing 4/5-4/10 (Easter 4/12) will be more crowded than June, but I want to hear it from more people before I change the date haha.

Let me know your thoughts!

Welcome to the boards. I have done both and I am probably in the minority on this site, but I prefer the week before Easter. It will be more crowded, but MK is open for much longer hours each day. So go early, take a mid day break, and go back later. The weather is much more enjoyable too, IMO. I also love the egg displays at GF and BC. Whenever you choose, Hope you have a wonderful trip.

Based on crowd size alone, I would say June. We were there in June this year, and crowds were noticeably less than when there around Easter (admittedly closer to the holiday than you're looking at). The downside though was definitely the weather - it was HOT! I found I got run down quickly and there were things I had no interest doing because of the heat.

You also said you'd save on hotel in June, so might be worth comparing that savings with the cost of having to get tickets for the 3 year old. Not sure how it would play out, but depending on your savings that could even out.

Agree, had lunch with a relative who went Easter week. It started ok, but got pretty busy, like castmembers directing traffic on sidewalks busy by the end. I went around mid June, and it wasn't horrible, I would say a 7 or 8 at the worst times out of 10. Now the heat was bad, and it stormed every day for several hours like clockwork around 2pm till 5.

Definitely June. We have been in both early June and mid June several times, and the crowds haven’t been bad at all. We got all the FP’s we wanted, ADR’s, etc. The weather is a bit hit or miss sometimes, we have had a trip where it poured rain for hours everyday, but our most recent trip it only rained once so it could go either way. In terms of crowds though, I would definitely go with June.

Simply due to weather, I would go in April. Even then it will be hot, but not as bad as June!

I usually go in November or December, but this year I took an additional trip during Memorial Day weekend. It was so hot we couldn't make it the entire day at the park.
