4th of July is on a Friday this year. I know the 4th is unbelievably crowded, but how is the week leading up to the 4th? We are arriving the Saturday before and are wondering it will be like. Crowded I am sure, but anything like the 4th.

We have been the last 3 years during the week of the 4th and YES the 4th @ MK is unbelievable! Wouldn't recomend it on the day of the 4th, we always do EPCOT and AK seems to be alot less crowded. The week leading up to it can be little hectic water parks get pretty crowded as well.
But hey your @ DISNEY!:sohappy:
Also seems to rain bout everyday that time of year usually in the afternoon 2ish or so but cools it down a little but gets humid after that so keep poncho's handy. We will be there @ the same time 6/28-7/5 @ Boardwalk. If your staying on property just plan a few breaks, afternoon swim nap whatever during the peak sun time, and ALWAYS lots of bottled water (tap water is awfull) we always bring a case or 2 and put it in the little freezer in the room fridge that way we have cold water all day, fits nice in a pack (yes I wear a pack but only while in the world, my DW's idea, love ya honey ) and helps keep ya cooled down works GREAT!

I usually go to Epcot the week before the 4th (for my birthday) and I really don't recall any of the crowds being that bad.Any other park,I don't know...

All summer is a peak time at Disney, because kids aren't in school. The crowds are always going to be 8 or 9 out of 10.

The week of the 4th of July is one of the busiest times of the year, and a lot of people plan their Disney vacation during that week because they have extra days off work or they want to see the special 4th of July festivities. So maybe because the of that, the week immediately before or after the 4th might be a tiny bit less crowded, but I wouldn't bet on it.

I just think in Disney, summer is summer, and it's packed. Just plan your days out, use EMH, and do the things that are most important to you. :)

Prepare for 1 hour + wait times. Not all attractions will be that long, but if your are prepared for 1 hour you won't be disappointed when the wait is shorter.

The week leading up to the 4th of July, is quite crowded, so plan on arriving EARLY at the parks, use the Fastpass system, and take a break every afternoon to get out of the sun and crowds. Still, you'll have a great time!
