Website Problems

I was trying to make a reservation for Boma, and I used both the app and website to try to find an available time. The process was riddled with error messages, and the calendar view shows all dates as "Open," when there are actually none available! The same issues occurred when trying to make a reservation at any of the Walt Disney resorts!!!

I even stayed up until midnight to try and make a reservation as soon as the date I wanted became available, only to have the website crash. Are there really that many people trying to make reservations at midnight that the website is incapable of handling it? The app is no better; every date is light blue (indicating that there is availability), but that's not the case. One might think Walt Disney World is manipulating the reservation process so that when you finally ARE able to make a reservation, you fall for it even though the price is exorbitant or the date and time is inconvenient.

Has anyone else encountered this issue, and what is Walt Disney World planning on doing to resolve it?

If you look over the various sites here you’ll see it’s been an ongoing issue for many people. Disney isn’t manipulating reservations to make you go for more costly sites to dine. Their technology to process reservations and bookings has long long long been a problem they refuse to address. It’s crazy that a huge company that wants guests to rely on devices to book every aspect of their trips can’t get the bugs worked out and have a more reliable system in place. It’s frustrating to deal with but the only solution is to keep trying online or try the old fashioned way and try calling it in.

The calendar view is showing you which dates you can book for, in other words either within 60 days or your onsite stay. I don’t think it shows availability.

ADR booking opens at 6am, sometimes 10-15 minutes earlier. And people who stay onsite can book for the length of their stay, up to 10 days. This Fall will be busy so there will be lots of people trying to book.

However there are constant glitches with the system. Some people find they cannot book via the app, for example. Searching all restaurants has been dicey recently, and the generic “breakfast”, “lunch” and “dinner” options tend to yield fewer results than searching by time.

Try both the app and website. Go to the specific restaurant and search from there, and use specific times (it will search an hour before and after).

I just went through that, as the online system shows no availability for ANY hotel the first week of December. I have a hard time believing this, so I called. She was basically looking at the same stuff as the online system, and showed no rooms. So now it's either keep looking online and hoping things change, or book an offsite motel (at a far cheaper rate, but it's just not the same!).

Your hotel issue is a bit different than the OP's situation. When Ive had issues with a connection with the online route for a dining ressie, I can usually get some help by contacting an actual person by phone who can sometimes but not always get results.

Open table is only available for 3rd part non-theme park restaurants like Disney Springs.
Or Shula's at the Dolphin.
Or Il Mulino at the Swan.
Or Bull & Bear, at the Waldorf.
Or Bluezoo at the Dolphin...

Here is a non exhaustive list :)
