Weather Report Required!

Hi All

8 days to go :sohappy:

I've never been in March before so what's the weather like?

I know I can look on many web sites for a weather forecast but that never gives a good reflection of what really happening.

So... what is the weather like at the moment? Any hurricanes expected? Heat wave? Jumper required?

I've been to Florida in January and November. Is it similar weather?

Any info welcome!

Jumper = some sort of rain garment??

Standard advice is to be prepared for rain. You can buy Mickey rain ponchos at WDW for about $7 (someone correct me if I'm wrong)

I always bring a cheap poncho from home. One advantage to that is that my family is NOT wearing yellow ponchos like 95% of the people in the parks.

I think the weather sites are your best bet. Only you know if you will be comfortable in shorts when it is 52 degrees F, or if 75 F is warm enough for swimming.

You won't have to worry about hurricanes...Hurricane season doesn't start until June....

Anyway, I don't know about Orlando, but in the Tampa Bay area it's been a little overcast today, though the sun is starting to peek out. And the high for today and for much of the rest of the week is in the mid-70s to low-80s.

There shouldn't be much difference between here and Orlando since we're just over an hour's drive west of Orlando/WDW.

Hope that helps.

Sorry it never entered my mind that Jumper was not a universal word. Go to the top of the class! it is indeed a Knitted Sweater.

The reason I don't trust web sites is that I was staying at the CBR and the web sites said RAIN, THUNDER. Nothing too unusual.
I was locked in my room for 2 days with just a bottle of vodka and a packet of Corn Flakes. Because outside was a hurricane and Disney closed the parks for the first time ever! (wow, what a holiday that was!)

I was also their for the coldest New Year in 45 years and the web site said SUN!

So does anyone have a better forcast?

Jupmer is British for a sweater. And we did need them in February last year for the evenings.

RATS!!--just when I thought I'd gotten that whole cookie / biscuit, stroller / pram thing figured out!

We don't even speak Uh-Mare-uh-Can here in Dallas. We speak TEXAN, or tex-mex, or Spanglish, or . . . at any rate it's a little like living in the tower of babel. Trying to understand all the accents. LOL!

The best site for latest forecasts is the National Weather Service site.

Here's the link to the Orange County Text and Graphical Forecasts, plus radar and other info...

http://www.srh.noaa.gov/data/forecasts/FLZ045.php?warncounty=FLC095

The Melbourne WFO handles the central Florida area...

http://www.srh.noaa.gov/mlb/

And you can ceck anywhere in the US starting at http://www.weather.gov

Hands down, these sites are now much easier to navigate and have the most up to date info of any site on the net
