Weather in late October

I've looked up the average highs and lows, and it looks like late October can still be rather warm during the day. How's the humidity? We've only gone to WDW in December and January, so we carry a mix of pants and shorts during those times, but I'm unsure what we should take for our October trip.

Around what time does it start cooling off at night? Any need for light jackets? I'm more comfortable when it's cooler (we keep the house at 72F during the day and 69F at night during the summer), so I'm pretty sure I will only take shorts; however my wife and son are perfectly comfortable with the thermostat set on 76F, even 78F, so I'm thinking they may want pants at night.

Any suggestions are more than welcome!

There's no way to tell. You just need to wait until the week before and watch the weather. I grew up in Orlando and there are plenty of times when it was hot in late October. I remember one Halloween where we had freezing temps at night. Last year, Hurrican Sandy was off the coast and it was terribly windy all over the state.

Here's a pic from Studios last October 25th to see how these people are dressed. I found shorts were fine even later at night. Don't worry about the guy in jeans. There's always one.

The horrid humidity breaks during October. By late October, a very humid day is not a common thing. (I am kind of waiting for October and was just saying so today, lol.)

It can be hot and it can be quite chilly. There is just no way to know. Also, 60 degrees is no big deal when you're going from your car into the mall, but when you're walking around the World Showcase and the wind blows, it gets to you after a while.

Most days are nice and warm (most), but I'd pack a couple capris, a couple long-sleeve shirts and a jacket, if I were you.

You'll have a better idea when you see the weather before you leave. :)
