Weather in August

Hello all. Me and the boyfriend will be making our 2nd trip to Disneyland in less than one week! :) We're going the 12th-18th. Last time we went in March and the weather was lovely. Especially being from Chicago, experiencing no humidity was something new and amazing. We just got back from WDW a month ago, needless to say the humidity was unbearable.

I was wondering what we can expect weather-wise this time around? Will the temperature still drop considerably at night? Will there still be no humidity? Does it rain ever? Should we bring a light sweater or jacket for nighttime? Thanks so much!

Barring a heat wave, which can happen in August, you will think you've died and gone to heaven in SoCal in August.

The temperature will drop up to 20 degrees at night. Yesterday the high in Anaheim was 78, and the low last night was 61. Humidity was not as desert-dry as September through May, but it was about 40% and unnoticeable. It is nearly statistically impossible to have rain in August in Southern California. You should bring a light sweater for nighttime if you chill easily and/or plan to be out in the parks until Midnight, or for indoor air conditioned areas.

I live in the hills a few miles due east of Disneyland. Right now at 10:45AM it's a clear, cloudless sky with a light sea breeze. The temperature is exactly 70 degrees and all the windows and doors are open in the house without a bug or a whiff of humidity in sight. Aahhhh, summer in SoCal, you can't beat it!

You should check http://www.weather.com/weather/today/USCA0027 closer to your visit for the extended forecast, as August is an easy month to get a heat wave, and we could warm up quickly this time of year. (Although September and October are actually the usual months for heat waves into the 90's and dry desert winds blowing in.)
