Weather around early June

My wife and I did our WDW trip last year in the first week or so of June, and the weather was awful. We're used to that 3:00 storm that comes and goes - that's fine, we don't even chalk that up to raining, at this point. But last year was horrible - constant, heavy rain for hours on end.

We're not doing a trip this year (which to us is akin to bamboo under the fingernails torture), but have been following the weather. She is a teacher, so we're limited in times to go. Early June is best for us, since it's probably the lowest crowd levels of the times we can get there. But between our trip last year, and following the weather this year, early June seems like horrible weather in WDW.

I know right now there's some major tropical stuff going on there, but even before that system hit, it's looked like thunderstorms all week.

Last year, we heard a lot of "It's not usually like this" from cast members. So my question is - is early June just always like this? We're a bit hesitant to book this time of year next year, if the weather is going to be like this and last year's. But at the same time, I'd prefer to not book later due to the increased crowds (and temperatures).

I would say since June is usually the beginning of hurricane season, there is just no way of knowing. Most storms - even if they aren't named storms, but just tropical weather - don't start arriving until late June, but they have been know to come early (Andrea is there now). We live in GA and it's not all that much different from FL. Early June is usually fine except for the occasional afternoon summer storm. If that's really the best time for you to go, I say plan the trip and have fun while you're there! You are absolutely right that July and August are more crowded and sooo hot, almost to the point of being miserable. I swore I'd never go back at the end of July again it was so hot and crowded.

June is usually the wettest month of the year in Florida. Expect afternoon thunderstorms and lots of humidity. Usually the storms pass by rather quickly but we will have a period of several days of steady rain. It will be the luck of the draw when you arrive. While June is the start of hurricane season, hurricanes in June are not very common. I know we have a tropical storm out there but they aren't very common this time of year and they don't tend to be too strong. By Floridian standards, a 60 mph tropical storm isn't all that. We like those because it's a day off from work.

Yeah, we are definitely used to the typical, "Oh, it's 3 PM, time for thirty minutes of downpour, then back to normal" that we've experienced in almost ten years of going their regularly.

But last year and this year makes it seem like this time of year is beyond that scope.

We're also getting our info via an iPhone weather app, so we don't know 100% of the picture. Does anyone know if it was raining constantly all week (prior to the tropical storm), or more of that "storm for a bit, then ease up" Orlando normalcy?

But if these past two years have been something of an anomaly, that's a bit reassuring. Our options are Spring Break (no thanks, crowds), and Summer - so first week+ of June is my ideal time to go.
