Wearing costumes to Disney

This trip will be my 5 year old's first trip to Disney. I wouldn't call her completely Princess-obsessed, but she loves dress up and is a Princess fan. I'm wondering whether we should bring some of her costumes to dress in? It's May, so it will be on the hotter side, but we could easily shove them in a bag and have her change into later?

We have reservations at 1900 Park Fare, 'Ohana, and Asherkus. We have Cinderella, Moana, and Snow White or Elsa costumes she could bring. We're doing enough character meals that I don't plan on doing any other "official" meet and greets, so she could easily just wear the dress for the meal.

Or is it not worth it?

"Worth it" is very much up to you. I personally would think costumes would make pictures even better, but I also agree that it's a very, VERY good idea to bring a change of clothes. Those princess dresses can be itchy and are not the best at breathing. I don't think you should worry about taking a few minutes out to change in or out of the costume. Just do so when you head to the bathroom for a break anyways!

My daughter just turned 5 and she's big into Disney (like me). She's been to WDW and DL, and we always let her wear costumes in the parks. This year we're bringing Cinderella, Elsa, Aurora, Tinkerbell and Elena. If she's good, we might buy a Snow White while we're there.

In the early AM, we dress her in a costume (with sneakers and good socks) and bring a change of clothes (either a cotton jersey dress or a tee and shorts) in a gallon ziploc bag in a backpack. If we end up doing a wardrobe change, it's pretty easy to do it in the bathroom. I just roll the dress up and shove it in the ziploc. Then force all of the air out until it's flat. Put it in the backpack. That's good for not taking up too much space and keeping the glitter situation under control.

We travel with a separate suitcase that only has princess dresses for our DDs. The interactions your daughter will have with the characters will be very different when they are in costume than not, so that probably makes it worth it. We typically put them in shorts and a camisole under the costume to facilitate changes, as they cycle through 2-3 per day. If you do it, you might as well do a meet and greet in order to get that individual interaction.
