Welcome to the boards. From reading the boards Christmas is the second busiest time of the year under Easter. So the crowds will be heavy. But since you are a Disney Resort member you have the Early Entry (EE) privilege. So using that will help on the lines, just be sure you are organized about what rides you will hit, and what area of the park you will be in when the general public is allowed. (I suggest be in the farthest area from the front, you get more time to ride with less people) Depending on the ages of your daughters I would suggest two things. If they are younger than 18 just have a great time, ride rides see shows. I would say but tickets to see La Nouba in the Downtown Disney area. Last I read they are like $50 per person. But the show is praised by everyone who has seen it. And said it is worth the money. If they are older than 18 go to Pleasue Island and celebrate. They cant drink until 21 but you can all enjoy a night on the town. Or perhaps let them go out on their own to whatever park they want. (If they are old enough of course) I would love to be let free to ride anything without a parent or sibling getting spooked.

First....Welcome and Congratulations:wave:

We will be down Dec. 23 through Jan. 2. We stay at the Caribbean Beach. We LOVE this time of year, very festive. The crowds were OK, but make sure you use fastpass as much as possible.

Enjoy your trip! It will be here before you know it. :xmas:

Congrats!

Well, from what I hear, it's a VERY busy time of year.

A warning - Stay away from the parks on New Years Eve!!!!

Easter week is more crowded.

We've been 12/26 through 1/3 the past two years and am hoping for another this year as well with the grandparents.

Use FastPasses, and pretty much avoid theme parks from 11ish through after dinner for extreme crowds. Animal Kingdom is fine, usually, anytime.

For New Years Eve, call in advance and get a PS for a restaurant in the park you want to spend your evening in. Best bet (for us anyway) has always been Epcot b/c of its huge size. Even though they broke attendance records last year, it was nothing like I expected the way it "felt." Ample room to move around. Be on the World Showcase size. The fireworks were unbelievable, and they add an individual New Years celebration for each country. You can also see Magic Kingdoms fireworks and MGMs fireworks from here, so you really are in the middle.

Have fun and I hope to be there too, still waiting for Dad's executive decision!:xmas:

We've spent the past 8 Christmas weeks at Disney, and New Year's Eve is busy! Plan to use the fastpass, or else you will have long waits. Also, like someone else recommended, make a PS for a favorite restaurant for New Year's Eve and enjoy a nice ending to the year. We've always been at MGM for New Year's Eve, and eat at Brown Derby. The fireworks are nice. The one downside to New Year's Eve... beware of the drunk(s) who might spill beer or some other form of alcohol all over you or your child. You shouldn't have the problem at MK since alcohol isn't served there. I think most of the years we've been there, most of the parks have closed because of capacity on New Year's Eve.

But, that week really is neat. I love the Christmas decorations, and of course, the Osborne lights! My husband's family pretty much only knows DIsney at Christmas since that's when we always go. The resorts are all decorated to the nines- so if you get a chance, check those out too. That's always fun to see the themed Christmas decorations. My nephews and neice love the life-sized gingerbread house at the GF.

We went last year Dec. 17 - 28 and the crowds were difficult to manage after Dec. 24. As long as you map it out and plan to use early entry and get to the big draw attractions like Fantasy Land rides first, you shouldn't have a problem. It was freezing down there this past year during this time so we ended up getting on Splash with no problem after about 4pm. Have a great time :)

Also make sure to get your fastpasses for test track first thing upon entering the park, it's fastpass was at a 7pm on return time almost every day if we got there after 10am! And as for New Years, Epcot has the best fireworks. Crowds are tough but you can't miss them!! I've only been once during NYE and I am bummed I missed this show! (We were at MK which had perimeter fireworks which was cool but not as cool as Epcot I hear!)
