Nice effort. I'm all for experimenting with site design.

Lots of text on the bottom half of the screen, though. The different background shades are nice, but it still looks kinda busy. Would different text colors be better? Just a thought.

I honestly preferedd the old look, this seems waaay too busy and "tight". I liked the open feel it used to have.

I think this would also be a bit more daunting for new users as it seems like information overload
