Greetings!
I had the pleasure of living, learning, and earning with the Walt Disney World College Program just about 10 years ago. I am a proud WDWCP Alum of Summer 2000, Summer 2001, and Summer 2002. Some of my fondest memories in life have come from the friends and experiences that I had working in Central Florida.
In 2003, I graduated with a B.A. and entered the “real world”. I found a professional field that I was absolutely passionate in and I have continued to “climb the career ladder” along the way. The large company that I have worked with for the last 5 years has been extremely generous and kind to me. However, a parallel position to what I do now is available with Disney (Florida). I figured that now might be my best time to make a move…
So, I found the perfect position that I am qualified for with Disney. I just want to make sure that I am giving myself the best fighting chance. I know that the obvious answer is to just fill out the web application and let my resume/cover letter speak for myself. However, can any Disney Professionals give me any pointers in how else to talk to someone with talent to make sure that my resume does get noticed? I’d appreciate any pointers/advice before I submit my application and start the process.
Additionally, does Disney have any “talent recruiters”/”head hunters” that I might be better trying to set-up a call with first?
Finally, my most recent resume had pretty much reduced my Disney experience to a small bullet under my Educational Experience. As an external candidate, would it benefit me to reformat my resume placing some emphasis on my College Program Experience?
Thanks in advance for any insights, thoughts, feedback, etc.!
