Can we talk about water parks please? Is there better day to go, or are they all equally busy during the summer? Any tips on planning, favorite rides, food? I have not been at WDW waterpark since 2013

We love the water parks. Have you been to any of them before?

There seems to be less crowd-calendar data for them but everything that I've read seems to suggest that they're busiest at the weekends. Many folk head to them in the afternoon to cool down after a day in the main parks (although the rides shut down if there's a thunder storm nearby). We've always used them spread in between park days to chill out a little. We aim to arrive at the car-parks 30mins before opening, dump our stuff on some loungers, then spend a few hours focusing on the slides. As the park gets busier we kick back and chill out with our books or head into the pools or the lazy river.

Can't talk about the food. Our last trip was a few years ago too.

Hard to say which park I prefer from a ride perspective. I like the tube and raft rides better. I find that the body slides can be a little painful on my back as you go over each join in the slide. I did Summit Plummit once, years ago and once was more than enough! Touring plans has a plan for each of the parks that suggests ride order based on how congested they're likely to get. We've always found these useful.

We did both waterparks summer 2013. We went back to WDW few times since, but always in October for less days and didn't get the time to do it. We are back for 16 days and for first time no Universal and hope to visit both

My son was 6 at the time, not very strong swimmer and had a panic episode at the shark reef. He felt really embarassed walking back and people kept saying ahhh to him to express kindness (he was in tears) and he kept saying - it's too cold. He wasn't happy having to confess he is scared.

Now at 10 he is great swimmer and loves waterparks in Europe we have been too. I have a feeling he would love to be back at BB and TL
