WDW travel quirks

Everyone has their own little quirks but what are your quirks when it comes to going to WDW? I'm not talking traditions like first ride, final ride such as I have to go to MK first...not sure why but I almost feel like it's getting the trip started.

A quirk for instance...... mine is that I don't like wearing the same shirts from trip to trip because I don't want to have pics in the same shirt from different years (even if it's only the following year). If you go multiple times a year that isn't really a feasible option I guess but we go every other year or every 18 months. It's a quirk in real life as well but I have to match from head to toe even when I travel to WDW which means bringing multiple shoes. My kids have turned into sneaker-heads and do this as well.

I actually realized this trip that I had the opposite problem. I was starting to develop "uniforms" for parks/events.
Every picture for the past 5 years or so for MVMCP is going to have me in my Hawaiian Christmas shirt. First day at MK I'm wearing my Enchanted Tiki Room shirt over some Disney t-shirt (and for the past few trips, it was my Dole Whip shirt). Etc.

This trip I had to try and break that up a bit. I was partially successful.

I try not to repeat outfits at Disney too!! :p I also try different outfit color combinations with my fiancé every time we go. We (ok, I) try to find complementing color schemes to each other and the park we go to for the day. Bright, bold colors for HS, neutral/earthy tones for AK, dresses for EPCOT depending on the theme of our ADRs, and all sorts of things at MK! :D

I like scrapbooking our vacations, so maybe that's why I'm put so much effort into Disney outfits. Or maybe I'm just crazy lol.

Our quirks would be:

(1) wearing matching outfits each day (not identical, but the same T-shirt colors -- makes it easy to stay together and find the kids if they wander, yet we don't dress like this anywhere except WDW)

(2) buying new sunglasses for each person before each trip -- I have no idea why, but I feel like a special vacation in the sunshine merits new eyewear)

(3) using a countdown calendar for the month before we leave (we don't do this for any other kind of vacation or event)

Not sure how quirky this is, but I used to only let myself use Germ-X Blastin' Blueberry (flavored? scented?) hand sanitizer at The World, and now any time I smell it I feel like I'm back :) I don't smell it too often though because I've forced myself to stop using hand sanitizer (trying to build up my immune system haha).

Packing my camera bag is usually more important than my clothes. :p

(What camera, what lenses, what bag, yada yada yada)

Also, planning which park on which day - usually by longest park hours, taking into account EMH, any parties, etc.

our family tradition is we must stop at cracker barrel for breakfast.one year we decided to get breakfast somewhere else and ended up in a bad car wreck.so now it's cracker barrel every time. and by the way we still went to disney after the wreck.we got some pretty funny looks from the valet at the wilderness lodge with the whole left side of the car caved in. we had a great trip still though.

I wear the same orange baseball cap that says Sister Hazel for the past few years. We also take a daily photo of what our child is wearing in case we get separated.

My family always eats breakfast at Waffle House before we leave. Not the classiest place in the world, but it's just what we do.
Please don't let the supercilious twits on this or any other board make you feel bad about liking something or not liking something. If you enjoy the Waffle House then that is where you should be able to go without feeling guilty about it. It's no ones business but your own.

Yeah, me too, I was definitely just making a joke :)
Sorry, it just seemed that your post was almost an apology that you go to the Waffle house and seemed defensive. (I refer to this... "not the classiest place in the world, but, it's just what we do".) With no emoticons it just seemed like you were ashamed of the fact that you folks go to the Waffle House. Didn't mean anything by it except to support the idea that it shouldn't have to be explained or justified. My mistake.

I'm reading this thread sitting on a bar stool by myself at my local Waffle House at 11:55 on Christmas night because I haven't eaten since 2pm today and im hungry and I have zero leftovers at my house lol.

1 quirk of mine is if we take my fiancé's car when we get there I have to find a car wash to get the bugs off the car.

When in line for Space Mountain, I update my facebook status to "Oldest ride in the park, still has the longest lines! WOO!" If possible, I strut through the queue.

My travel quirk is to annoy my family throwing out random knowledge about the parks from when I worked there.
My dad has to remind me "You don't work there anymore!"
