I know that the park transportation runs for some time before and after the parks open/close. With the parks opening @ 9:00, and entry to the parks begining @ 8:30, what time would the transportation start running.

You can enter the park at least MK at 9 am. Mgm lets you in the first street before 9 am , but not until nine can you get into the park to ride rides, AK is same they do not have any early entry, and Epcot like Mgm lets you up to a roped off area but that is it.

So the buses usually run an hour earlier than the parks open
which would be 8 am, but I think some have an early bus for character meals.

I would imagine the hotel would be able to say what time to expect the first bus right? I would like to try to catch the first bus of the morning, but don't want to be sitting there and hour early.:animwink:

I have caught busses with my family as early at 7 am. but always call up to the main desk, they are so helpful and will always tell you exact times.

Things usually start running 60-90 before opening time.

Limited bus transportation will start running at 7:00am for Character Breakfasts. The exact time and interval of these busses will vary depending on the resort. Most times, the bus will come in with the park name on the marquee, but some busses will have "CHARACTER BREAKFAST" on the marquee... Just double check with the driver for destination. If your breakfast is at a resort... check with the driver to determine your best route. Sometimes, if circumstances allow, the driver will take you directly to the resort where your character breakfast is at. (Unfortunetly, sometimes this isn't possible.)

Transportation will start running to the parks on more of a regular basis starting at around 8:00 when all the float operations kick in.

Now that Epcot is opening at 9:00 again, Epcot busses will start at 8:00 as well. However, should Epcot return back to it's 10:00 opening time, those busses won't start running until 9:00.

As for transportation for when the parks close... Busses will run until the park is cleared of all guests.
