hey,

me and a friend are thinking about startin' a site about the disney transportation system and then moving on to the parks and such. Anyway we are asking idf any one has any information on the monorails, busses or boats. Maybe stuff for a WDW Transportation freeks page with details on all the bus numbers, codes the drivers put in to get the destination displayed, the names of the boats and types etc..

also any photos or sound / video clips would be great, thanks

thanks a lot if anyone can help

There is a WDW monorail FAQ floating around on the net. Some good info in there, though a little dated.

Here's a list of 10 codes. Everyone loves 10 codes! I don't know if the other transportation departments use the same ones. Maybe Fantasia Boi can tell us what the busses use.

10-1 Receiving poorly
10-2 Receiving well
10-4 Acknowledgement
10-6 Busy
10-7 Out of service
10-8 In service
10-9 Repeat
10-20 Location
10-22 Disregard
10-23 Stand by
10-45 Phone call
10-51 En route
10-52 ETA
10-54 Negative
10-56 Meet at
10-96 Go to channel #
10-100 Emergency - clear channel
Odor - smell something
Visible odor - see smoke
Signal 25 - see flames
Alpha unit - ambulance

Pretty much same as Monorails, to a lesser extent. We're not as "formal" on the radio.

In addition, we have
10-13 Road/Weather conditions
10-14 A ride/transport
10-26 I understand
10-30 Against policy/procedure
10-36 Current time
10-81 Lunchtime!
10-98 Task has been accomplished
Signal 4 Accident
Signal 11 Abandoned vehicle
Signal 16 Road Obstruction
Signal 22 Disturbance
Signal 27 Traffic light problems
Signal 32 Hitchiker/pedestrian
Signal 50 Motorist Assist
Signal 70 Lost child
Signal 72 Full bus
Signal 75 Stroller Incident
Signal 78 Management assist
Signal 80 Lost article
Signal V Sanitation Situation

Here's a copy of the old monorail FAQ from usenet. The Google cache version responds better than the actual site. It started out on usenet so you should be able to put it on your site as long as you don't chage it in any way.

By the way, do you think you could limit your sig to once per thread since it is kinda lengthy? Thanks!

I posted fleet information awhile back in one of the past monorail threads I beleive... As for Destination codes, I know them all... however, I fail to see the need for sharing them...

As for frequencies... I will NOT give those out. We've already had an instance where someone 'tapped' into our monorail frequency, thus disrupting our communication. The radio is critical to operation for Monorails... less so for busses, however, private internal information is transmitted over those frequencies at times.

yeah i respect that, ill just have to sit near the front of the bus and listen, hope there is something interesting happening. But can i please have the codes for the destination boards. And also what is Backyard BBQ? One of the new buses cam in to AK with that on.

Why do you need our destination codes? They will serve you no real purpose. For all you know, I could be making up the numbers. (As for the 10-codes... those are used all over for radio transmissions... not just Disney... so they would serve somewhat of a minimal purpose)

As for Backyard BBQ, that's an old one from Fort Wilderness when they'd run special River Country, Hoop Dee Doo, and Backyard BBQ busses. That bus shouldn't have been running with that.
