WDW-Themed Snake (classic cell-phone game)

The WDW Racing Tour thread inspired me to bring this up

A long time ago, I dreamed up a plan to make a themed version of the Snake game that's on everyone's cell phone. Instead of just having blocks, you would have a train of some vehicle type that would go around a themed area.

For example, you could have a Jungle Cruise level where the outside perimeter is a jungle wall, the main surface would be water, a dock would sit on part of one wall, and there are temples and waterfalls and stuff (obstacles) in the middle of the level. It could even be interactive in that when you hit a target of a certain type, some animation sequence would be triggered (ex, headhunters would pop up)

Other ideas:
MK
- Main Street Vehicles going around the Hub or the Square
- TTA around Tomorrowland
- Doom Buggies going through something that looks like the Haunted Mansion
- Canoes going around the Rivers of America
- Trains going around Thunder Mtn
- Boats going through scenes from Pirates
- Subs in the 20K Leagues lagoon
- Cars going through scenes from Mr Toad
- Barnstormer flying through Toontown Fair
- Space Mtn rockets flying through space

Ep
- Jumping Fountains going through the JIYI gardens
- Boats going through El Rio Del Tiempo
- Friendship Boats in the lagoon
- Travelling theater cars going through UOE dinosaur scene
- Boats travelling through greenhouses

MGM
- RNRC trains going through "Hollywood"
- Backlot Tour trains going through Castrpohie Canyon and Residential Street etc

AK
- Safari vehicles on the Savannah
- Discovery River Boats in the lagoon

This is an idea I've had in my head for a long time. Unfortunately, I don't have anything visual to support it with. In theory, once I get the basic game coded, all I need to do is change the graphics, sound, music, animations for the different levels.

What are your thoughts on a game such as this?

I have actually started work on this game. I have a basic Nibbles/Snake clone already made (it only took a couple hours). So, all that's left is to add map features and animations, and then start with some theming.

My first one is going to be 20,000 Leagues, where you will get to drive Nautilus subs around the lagoon and through the station (but not into the ride building).

I will post screenshots as I make progress...

Whew

It's been about a month, but I finally started working on this monster.

The basic snake game is complete (that was easy). Now I'm working on creating the levels.

I have a simple 20K level almost completed. It currently has a lagoon, beach, waterfalls, and a roaring waterfall sound. I still need to work on adding trees, the left side of the lagoon (walkway, etc), and the subs themselves.

I will also have the option where you can specify your own music to play in the background. So, if you happen to have the 20K queue loop, you can point the program to the file and it will play while you play the 20K level. This will be the standard protocol for all levels in the game.

I just happened upon this post and I am very interested to know if this game is either: finished, in production, on hold, or abandoned. If it has been finished, where can it be downloaded?

hehe sounds cool...
Man, WDW Racing Tour, I have that game and LOVE it!
I think I am gonna bust it out tomorrow.
:p

Haha I have that for PC and for Game Boy Color. I play it whenever I'm missing WDW... which is often. I got my boyfriend hooked on the Game Boy one before we even started planning his first trip to the World and he was always absent-mindly humming Grim Grinning Ghosts. Then when we went on the actual Haunted Mansion ride, he was like OMGTHISSONG!!! It made me so happy.
