I've been on one of my many kicks lately where I'll be glued to YouTube WDW videos (thanks Popsong1 & UndercoverTourist) and it really stirs the pot, so to speak, as far as my desire for another WDW vacation. But then I started thinking, part of my love for WDW isn't even the trip itself, it's the ANTICIPATION of it coming up which fuels the fire even more for when trip time actually arrives. Because of that, I kind of feel that going on a semi-annual trip would be the best WDW experience, because it allows for that anticipation to build up. I'm not sure that I'd have that same exhilarating sense of anticipation if I lived closeby and could go whenever I wanted (although that is a life-long wish of mine), or that I'd have it if I worked at WDW. So the question really is, then, as far as your own love for WDW is concerned - whether or not anticipation is a factor - which would you consider the best option?

I voted too hard to choose. I know I wouldn't want to work there. As fun as it would be, I would start to take the parks for granted. Being there all the time and stuff would get old after awhile I think. I am looking into a move to Jacksonville, Florida which is about 2 1/2 from Disney. While I won't be able to go every weekend as I would if I lived closer.. I'm far enough away that it would require at least a little bit of planning if I want to take 2-3 nights and go. So SOME of the anticipation is still there. Maybe not as much as now, when I live in Maine. We got 2-3 times a year and I still get super excited. We just got back this week and have another trip planned for November and I'm getting anxious already! :) After this trip though we're going to be taking a pretty lengthy break. Not that I don't love the parks, but until they add some new stuff and hire CMs who actually act like they enjoy their jobs and are not rude, we're going to be cruising instead!

i voted semi-annual but i actually span my visits over at least 2 years, all for the anticipation build-up. i want every trip to have that new feeling to it.

I've already worked for Disney and would do it again. If I had NO debt, I would totally be a castmember again. You don't work at Disney for the $$ however, and right now I just can't "afford" to work for the Mouse.

I'm quite happy living far enough that a trip is still kind of a big deal, logistically. There's a lot to be said for anticipation. However, I can foresee a point -- when I'm 55 or 60, maybe -- when driving or flying down will be just a big annoying hassle. Only then might I consider moving closer to the magic.

Semi-annual visit. Right now we go once a year. We have gone 3 times in one year before, but I love the planning, anticipation and even the long drive down. We went last year (as well as in January) for our first Halloween party in September and absolutely loved it and are planning to do it again next year.

I voted for "live close enough to go whenever I please".

Hubby and I are planning to buy a Central Florida condo within the next few years. Add a couple of AP's, and I will be a happy girl. Half way between Disney and the beach would be ideal.

Too hard to choose between the second and third. I don't think I could ever work there. (The hot weather and large crowds in the summer would melt me for sure, both phyiscally and mentally!) But I'd go with the semi annual trip aka the third option because like @cynic710 said, I want every trip to feel like a brand new start! But I mean, there may be a point where I really want to attend some of the special events most vacationers rarely get to experience like the Halloween Party, Christmas Party or even Food and Wine Festival. Having said that, the second option isn't something I'll rule out per say but unless I find a job that allows me to vacation during the off peak times or run into a somewhat miraculous scenario where I could be my own boss or some sort, it's highly unlikely I'll get to visit the Disney parks when it's not so crowded. (I'd do anything to visit in September, Oct, Nov (Except for Thanksgiving) or Dec (Except during the holidays and preferably, on my birthday!)

I would want to be able to go whenever I wanted, but being so close it would also get old. I can't imagine my life away from Disney now, so if you live close and if it will get old, you might as well work there as well. It's a pride thing. :)

I promise you, I live close and go often, it doesn't get old. You just switch which parks you visit and what things you wanna do.

I chose work there, but it was really a toss up between that and semi annual. The two extremes lol. I would only choose to live in Florida if I worked at Disney. H could be a bartender and I'd make all the delicious cupcakes, Mickey caramel apples and the like:p! I love having 4 distinct seasons, no oppressive heat or natural disasters though...ahh, to not pay NY taxes!

Right now our trips are every 3-4 years, so semi annual would be nice!
