WDW Souvenir Video, Good or Bad?

I was close to buying this DVD containing footage of the 100-year celebration at WDW and the Walt Disney Story, but I wasn't sure if it was worth the $30. I was most curious as to if this Walt Disney Story included in the DVD is the same as the film shown at the One Man's Dream attraction at MGM. If anybody has this DVD, could you let me know if it is the same and whether the WDW segment is worth buying it or not?

Also, last year I started a collection of coins from the different attractions. I have 6 from last year, but this year I couldn't find them anywhere. Does anybody know what happened to these. Oh, and you could place them into a cardboard map the the MK and Epcot.

Thanks!

Hi Konta. I found those coins (Walt Disney World Medallion Collection) in blue packages in Dec at the emproium on mainstreet. It was right near the fire station that used to have the dalmation dogs on it. They were on clearnce for a few dollers each. I bought 9 for my husband, but did not get the map because it was a surprize and I didn't want him to see it. There are 18 in all so I have 1/2 of them. (I got his fav attractions ect..) This makes me think they were being phased out since they were on clearnce for 2 to 3 dollars each and were normally 8 dollars each. My advise is to call and see if they have them for this price and can ship them too you. Good luck.

I am interested in knowing about the DVD myself and don't know if seen it around . What Disney store did you see it in? (Remeber I think I leave near you! ) Do you know if it was current infomation or things on DL only. (when Walt was still alive.)

The DVD is sold at the resorts, DTD, and I'd guess they are at the park as well. You can get it on VHS, but it doesn't include the Walt Disney Story. The front cover has the 100-year logo on it and is mostly blue. It doesn't have anything with DL on it.

Ahh, I can't believe the coins didn't last. I'll have to look one more time when I go back.

Yeah but its not the same one That you can get for free
The one you get is more or less what you should know in order to bring more people, sort of an advert.

The one I think this person is talking about says something on it like sharing the memories of your trip or something like that..

But I agree, I wanted it but for not knowing what it was about 30 was too much

Try looking at the emporium. (right as you enter mainstreet on the left side of the road facing the castle.) They were right near the jewery. I belive I only paid 3 dollars for each one. Now I am wishing I got more, but I got 30 dollars worth at the time. That was around 4 months ago, but hey it could happen. Ask around CM can be very helpful.

If you get the DVD let us know how it is.

I saw the video and I can tell you unless you really like to see things you already know it's not worth it. The video is more possibly worth the money. At the beginning it says brought to you by Disney merchandise company or something like that....it's a ploy to get you to spend money.

I bought a video in WDW last august that was really a tour through the parks. Not great edited and had old footage. I think that they take the same video every year and change the cover. The label on the video also looks poorly put on. Any way though it is a good video.

I would say buy the DVD...it is an official Disney DVD so it can't be too bad and you know what t expect.

I bought the Millenium Celebration Video while I was there in 2000. It only had what was new for the celebration and had little segments of Tapestry and Illuminations. However, the video footage I got from my own camera was worth more than that video.

The Millenium Celebration video was only about 18 minutes long.
