WDW Police

Hi there all. I was just wondering if anyone knows if Walt Disney World has their own police department or if it's all covered by the Orlando Police Department? I always forget to inquire about it while I’m down there because I'm so mesmerized by it all.
I am currently a NJ resident with a dream to become a police officer and I can't get enough of Disney World. So if it was possible to be in Disney World all the time as a police officer, it would be like two dreams coming true in one shot. Thanks for any info.

I'm not sure about a police force, but there is security. I've never heard of them called a police force.

WDW is covered by mainly its own security force and Orange County Deputies.

WDW has two types of security , Plain clothes usually in the parks and uniformed spread thurout the property, If there is someone that needs to be ejected or detained for a crime they call Orange county to make the arrest. As far as I know Disney does not have Police powers to arrest anyone which is why Orange County is called.

Orange county Patroles the Roadway around WDW and does give Tickets for trafic Violations.

In the early days WDW had there own security patrols when there wasn't much area to patrol, since the growth in the 90s have facilitated WDW using outside agenceys

When I inquired to a cast member they informed me that Orange County has sort of a mini precinct on property that a couple of uniformed officers man on a daily basis. Maybe one of the cast members can confirm this.
