Has anyone tried calling WDW today?

I've tried calling the dining reservation line a few times and just get sent straight to a recording. I'm calling (407) 939-3463 and just not having any luck. I've also tried some of the other numbers and end up getting the same recording.

I've been getting various levels of lack of success getting through... :hilarious:

Everything from getting the "welcome" message, followed shortly by "We're sorry, but we seem to be experiencing technical difficulties", to no message at all and a disconnect, to a "fast busy" to the phone company advising that all lines are currently busy.

Free Dining has a nasty impact on their systems, combined with a same-day release of room-only discounts means disaster.

I tried since 7am this morning and kept getting busy signal. Finally got through and went through all the questions to get to operator and then waited and then got sent back to main welcome and asked all the guestions again. That happened 5 times. Hung up and gave it a bit. Finally got through again after trying For awhile, waited for 90 minutes.

I've come to believe that the people who come up with the discounts have absolutely no idea how to integrate anything beyond marketing. The IT and Reservation departments are never prepared, and/or they don't communicate their limitations well.

We were able to successfully make our dining reservations online. We normally do it over the phone, but we got the busy signal every time. It wasn't flawless, but we got it done after about 45 minutes. Most of that time was spent rearranging the dates to work around Halloween party nights and trying to avoid Food and Wine on the weekends, only slightly set back by weird online issues.

They were messing with their phone system over the weekend too, I wonder if they broke something before Monday morning.

We had good luck with their online systems this time, and even the phone waits weren't bad if you got it, but when you got busy signals for hours, something just isn't right.

You aren't able to remove people from an ADR online. If you want to change it from 5 people to only 3 people...you have to call in to do it.

It might not be the fault of the IT department, as higher management always ask for the impossible. Management usually does not care about the system limitations, or that funding was never given to improve the existing systems to accommodate increase in usage. This happens all the time in just about all companies now a days.

What's funny is I tried calling and calling for hours and kept getting the message or busy tone and then found out if you listen to the entire message then you hear the pixe dust sound and the call connects automatically. I had to call back several times that day and it did the same thing about 5 more times. Sounds to me like they wanted people to think they are busy but really were not I waited about 1 min to talk to a dining cast member everytime I called.

How did you do it? Please share.
I went to my mde account. I clicked on reservations and tickets. I went down to my CP reservation. They have added "change reservation", whereas before you only had cancel or add quests. I clicked on change. It came up with a screen with my current time, date, and number of guests. I clicked on the drop down for number of guests and changed it to three instead of five. Then, my current time came up. It said to click on the time you want. Only my current time was listed. I clicked on it. I believe I had to click on done. Within a few minutes, I had an email confirming the change.
