Modern Marvels
Disney World.
Premieres:
Sunday, December 25 @ 8pm ET/PT

Journey underground and backstage at the technological marvel that is Walt Disney World. Enter a make-believe world spanning some 27,000 acres, brought to life by cutting-edge technology. What was once Florida swampland now boasts the world's largest theme park. The ride technology ranges from space-age centrifuges to enhanced motion vehicles powered by 3,000 PSI of hydraulic pressure. And hundreds of audio animatronics brought to life through the power of pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical systems. Walt Disney World is made up of four separate theme parks, each with its own innovations: the 107-acre Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney-MGM Studios, and Disney's Animal Kingdom. The four parks are all part of a megaplex of a resort. Twice the size of Manhattan, it was the final vision and crowning achievement of a man who spent more than 40 years pushing the limits of technology to create entertainment magic: Walt Disney.

Now comes the part where someone tells me this has been posted already and directs this to another thread even after I did a search on the topic. :lookaroun

Edit: The date in the title should be 12/25/05.

Wow, I know I'm behind here but I think this is a great show to air on the History Channel. It may not seem like much but the Disney Parks set milestones and standards for the theme park industry. I sure hope the inlaws don't drive me crazy enough where I won't be able to see it. Christmas seems a wierd time to air this though.

I just went online and setup my TiVo to record this episode - Gotta Love TiVo! :sohappy:

Just set your Tivo to record anything with Walt Disney World or Disneyland as a keyword and you're all set. I haven't missed a special in years. And with the beauty of technology, I can now transfer the show to my computer and then to my video iPod.

I love technology.:sohappy:

My dad's watching the History Channel right now, as i just walked in from work. He told me about the special, and I came right on here to warn the world....then I find out 6 other people had the same idea....

Now he's all bragging that he knew something Disney before I did.
I can't wait to see it! I'm hoping it will make Mission Space a little bit more understandable.

Wow. Now....Is there any way you can put them online in the proper format for those of us without Tivo to download and put on our video iPods?

I just got my video pod, and I'm looking for Disney vid's in the right format (that's the important fact here) to put on it. I only have found a few to date, but TV shows would be great. I would be eternally grateful!

I can't do it tonight, but I'll see what I can do. I have a bunch on my tivo that I saved and only 2 that I transferred on my computer. The Disney Imagineers special and Undiscovered Walt Disney World. I'll work on the rest this week and let you know when it's done.

You rock!
Thanks a bunch. This will be great, I'm going down to Disney the first week of January, and would love to get them on my iPod to watch on the plane ride down.
Thanks again!
