At Disney Meetings, our team creates multi-sensory, special events and private parties that keep attendees entertained and engaged. Whether it’s a roaring good time or a multi-sensory soiree, our event designers can craft a customized experience tailored to a group’s specific message or objective—all by combining our passion for creating immersive experiences with our expertise in rich storytelling.
Today, we are excited to share our latest featured event theme: The Escape Challenge. This immersive Disney team building activity puts a unique “spin” on one of today’s hottest trends in group-bonding experiences.
In The Escape Challenge, participants are split into small teams and placed inside specially constructed “rooms” where they must work together to solve clues in order to escape the room and move on to the next challenge. Upon arriving, participants are first greeted by four unique characters who explain the objective of the challenge: to find the “Stone of Stones” in order to save the element of time and preserve the history of the world.
As the participants travel back in time, they find themselves locked inside the first room—the captain’s quarters of an abandoned pirate ship, full of old maps, navigational tools, gleaming gems and gold coins. The team must work together to search throughout the room and unlock clues to a hidden message. Only then can they “escape” their temporary prison.
After escaping the first room, participants then find themselves in second, even more perplexing predicament—locked inside the laboratory of a mad scientist. Filled with creepy experiments gone awry, this room features hidden traps and misdirection around every corner. Only by working together can the team solve the complicated clues and cunning challenges to win the game and ultimately, save time.
“We’ve designed every aspect of The Escape Challenge to create an unforgettable Disney team building program or team-bonding experience,” said Ray Fournier, Disney Producer. “It’s perfect for all types of groups, even corporate groups, because when you think about trying to meet business objectives, leadership, communication, collaboration—all of these things are really important to be successful. By the end of the challenge, participants have figured out how to work closely with their teammates to solve these rather complex clues, and with that, they leave with a true sense of accomplishment,” he added.
Although this particular event was themed to the idea of “preserving time,” The Escape Challenge can be completely customized and tailored to fit any group’s event theme, message or objective. The specially constructed set is fully mobile and transportable, meaning it can be built and installed in function space available onsite a Disney convention resort or theme park event venue. And, to help foster additional relationship building and networking, the event can even be taken to the next level by adding a unique food and beverage experience at the culmination of the challenge.
