Any advice/tips for a May trip? I'm guessing the first week wouldn't be good with Mother's Day. How about the end of the month? Are the local schools out for summer vacation? Is there a value season during that month at all?

First week of May is a great time to go. We've gone that week & over Mother's Day for many years and find it great with low crowds, good weather, etc. The closer you get towards the end of May it gets busier with some schools getting out early, Memorial Day and Star Wars weekends at DHS. I vote for early May anytime.

Thank you. I wasn't even thinking about Star Wars weekend and Memorial Day weekend. I thought Mother's Day would be crowded. Who knew.

First week of May is best time in the entire year, IMO. (Mother's Day is usually the second week, not the first)
Weather is generally perfect, and crowds are low. We've gone that week every year for the past 10+ years to celebrate our wedding anniversary.

By mid-month, after the 15th or so, it starts to get hot, humid, and crowded.

We went May 4-11 this year and the crowds were higher on Sat. and Sunday than I have ever seen in May. The weather was terrific and the lines were short it was just more crowded (no where to really sit and hard to get through the main throughfares) than I am used to. We still had a great time and so would you!

Early May is best depending on when Easter falls. We live in Florida and go every May. The weather is great that time of year and the crowds are low! Our schools get out mid May so late May can be crowded with locals before the summer crowd arrives.

I've had great experiences in both early and late May (although Menmorial Day weekend is worth avoiding). Perfect weather and good crowd levels, I say go anytime in the first 3 weeks and enjoy!

One more question, do they offer any discounts for the first two weeks in May? I won't hold my breath for free dining. Lol

We did a trip the second week of May a couple of years ago. Crowds were not too bad. Temps were warm but not too hot and the daily evening rains hadn't started yet. We were able to get the typical discount off of the room rates, no idea if they were also offering free dining. We always get the deluxe dining plan so I don't even bother checking for free dining as that is never part of that discount.
