WDW in March

Hi Everyone...

I'm going to Disney in March. March 1-5 to be exact. I've never been during "peak" season before so I'm wondering if annual passholder discounts will be offered? Also, will it be too cold to go swimming? I'm trying to decide on a resort and it's between the GF (never stayed) or the Poly (love it!). If it's too cold for swimming, I'll do the GF since one of the best things about the Poly (there are so many!) is the pool.

Thanks in advance for any advice/help you can give.

The first week of March is close to February. I'd say there is a chance it could be cool for swimming, but very likely it will be warm enough. Not quite like MD in August hot, but with the pools heated...The GF also has a great hot tub, which will be wonderful in March. The Poly, as great as its pool is, has no hot tub.AS for the AP discount I can't help you there, but there is a general discount being offered for that time right now. If there are still discounted rooms available for that time period, then you shouldn't have to worry about the AP rate.

We started off going to WDW in March for Spring Break, but haven't been at that time in a few years. However, our trip this year is Feb 25 to March 3rd so we will be there the same time as you, so it better be warm enough to swim because we are staying at BCV and I LOVE SAB. I think the last time we were there in March it was 2003 and the weather was great. We were playing in SAB (The big really cool pool there) at 8:00 at night and we were perfectly comfortable.

Poly is wonderful, but if I had the opprotunity I would like to stay at GF one time. It really is what WDW is all about. From what I can see the pool at Poly and the one at GF are very smilar. The only difference is Poly has a volcano (both zero entery and shaped the same.) Not sure about the GF slide since I have never stayed there. The man in line before me discribed the Poly slide as being flushed down a large toliet and I have to agree with him. One difference. No hot tub at Poly and GF has a few I think. This would make a big differnce in March when it can be a bit chilly and hoping in the hot tub to warm up is always a good thing. You can't go wrong with either resort (for that mater any resort on WDW prop.)

Pack for both kinds of weather and check the weather reports right before you leave. It can be chilly for a strech of a few days and when you are going for such a short time it might take up the whole trip. Or you (and me) could get lucky and have perfect weather. (and let's hope extra magic hours at night are running then too!)

I see MickeyLuv'r and I had the same idea about hot tubs, but I am too long winded and had to case a 3 year old around the house to get dressed so he beat me to it.

Great minds think alike! :sohappy:

She. But yes I agree with you. I forgot to mention, the discount I mentioned has to be booked by Decd 1st - so hurry. Rooms are still avail on that date. Garden view at the Poly is about $330/night and GF is around $370/night with the winter saver special (look on the right side of the Disney World booking site - though you can also book by phone if you mention the rate code).

Sorry, I think I knew that too. :hammer:

The PhD crew tends to confuse the heck out of people since hubby and I share the account. Sometimes it is a he, sometimes a she. For the most part it is me (Mrs.) you can tell if it Mr. since he tends to get to the point and not rattle on and doesn't spell things wrong! :lookaroun

I went last March and it was about 75 everyday, but for some reason I was freezing! 75 degrees is so different in Florida I think... When it is 75 here in Mass it just feels different, warmer... hahaha, I guess that doesn't make sense... but we went to Typhoon and ended up doing a few slides and then falling asleep with about 7 blankets on us to keep warm in our suits. There were people who were much more hardcore then us who stayed in the wave pool all day! I would never base my trip around a pool again if I go in the spring because it was chilly (for me).

March 3rd is my birthday to you guys who are going to be there so wear a pin for me!! hahaha
